1. It is more than likely too late to change to the manufacture reccomnadation.. Continue using the palm oil until the engine starts bring out smoke, or better yet sell the car before it gets to that point.....

2. For recommded interval, always read the owners manual. For some cars oil change interval is always every 3k miles if using conventional oil . And every 7k5k miles to 10k miles if using full synethtic... also put into account that Nigerian factor or Lagos traffic with constant stop and go ,idling, dust etc will put more stress on the engine.. So it might better to change earlier than the recommended interval....
