Please my camry envelope power steering is strong and only gets soft when in motion.

One mech said it's to change the power steering pump

Another said with 5k he can work on the power steering pump.

Please what's advisable for me to do.

Give to mech that said total change of pump, and please how much do you think the pump will cost.

Or

Give to the one that said he can repair the pump with 5k.

Gazzuz, I found out there are alot of 1AZ engines in the market posing as 2AZ. Both engines look same but with very little differences. One was recently installed in a 2003 Toyota Camry which is supposed to have a 2AZ. Is there anything to worry about? Any need to change the ECU to that of 1AZ. Am worried.

helo experts in the house.

my 2004 Honda accord 2.4L sedan has its radiator fan running immediately I start the car. Its apparent that the thermostat was bypassed before i bought the car. i notice that my engine roars too loudly when i start the car.

please what should I do?

is it likely that the thermostat is still in the engine?

most mechanics argued that I should leave it that way to prevent overheating. is it true that thermostat easily malfunctions leading to overheating?

anyone using this model of car who has reverted to factory settings should also let me in on your experience.

Hello Gazzuzz,

Good day, Hope you are doing great?

I took my 2011 Toyota Camry to the carwash day before yesterday, after washing the VSC light (Not the VSC OFF) and the check engine light came ON, yesterday as I was coming back from work the engine switched off itself on the highway but all electrical stuffs were working, I returned the gear to PARK and then started it and it started immediately, Also today as I was coming back from work it happened again. This car is a Tukunbo car has been driven just about a month, has had no issues whatsoever except that I replaced the battery after I noticed the seller gave me a smaller battery. Please help me diagnose the issue. Thanks.

Forgot to mention my AC was ON both times.

Meanwhile usual culprit is water inside the ignition coils, have them removed and dried.

Your kind advice Oga GAZZUZZ please. I drive Honda Accord baby boy, I've been using Total quartz 5000 20w5O oil grade, but lately the oil is below the minimum level when I do check using the dip stick. My Mechanic said the oil is not leaking neither is the engine smoking, he advice I change the oil to another brand.

Please which brand of similar grade is better that I can switch to?

Top your oil when it gets low. Total quartz 5000 is a very good brand

Thanks for your response sir, Unfortunately I gave out the old battery to a friend to use with his corolla for free, wish you had asked me earlier.

I took the car to a mechanic to inspect the coil as you suggested but we found out that a pipe behind the engine plastic cover which has an outlet (or something that looks like it) the cover/plastic closure of that outlet was loose, he said that was what caused it so we tightened it, I just came back and it didn't happen again. the pipe is just behind that plastic cover on top of the engine, the mechanic said it has something to do with air flow.

I am not a monk o, maybe in the morning sha but at night... grin

I changed my shaft to an original one and the ABS light stopped, you can try that too
