Shma2020: I know that thread is heading nowhere....with all those posts yet it hasn't reached 30 pages or 60000 views. Even if we were to all migrate there it still won't help. You understand we do have the numbers right...very soon we'll be hitting 4 million views and 10000 pages. To understand how good our numbers are can you imagine that we hit 3 million in April this year....half a million views in less than 6 months Not only that we also have 8 million views and 10000 pages on Jamiiforums. That Shma2020 is a really good number 1 Like |

Iamleefact: Vipingo aside you can't compare Nairobi middle class estates with whatever they have in TZ. Tanzania have really bad tastes from Architecture to interior designs. Their furniture choice is what surprised me the most. This is typical in almost all Tanzanian households. 6 Likes

Shma2020:I have so many things to teach you folks. First,a skyscraper is a building which is above 152 metres. So,all what you tried to say here in pointless. You have very few skyscrapers, may be 2,3 or 4 at most,so are they spread everywhere? Definitely not! Remember, Dar es salaam real estate value is 12b vs Nairobi's 9b and Addis is 6. Do the math! Can u compete with Dar es salaam? Can u? Can u? Next time try to use the word " highrises" instead of skyscrapers. |

and before kazi pulls the "they are owned by whites" card, I can assure you these are designed for, built by and owned by black Kenyans buddy, of course there could be some owned by white people either Kenyan or foreigners but generally the black majority owns them. including the real estate companies, fully Kenyan owned. 5 Likes

gallivant: Kenya airways(KQ) in talks to return some of leased aircrafts..... https://nation.africa/kenya/business/kenya-airways-in-talks-to-return-leased-aircraft-2304734 My take: Buying your own aircrafts is a smart move which saves you money in case unforseen circumstances forces you to halt operations for a while. What Tanzania's government did by buying cash her own planes was the smartest thing versus Kenyan leased business which as the CEO of KQ put it... " it costs an arm and a leg". As we speak,KQ is paying huge amount of cash for unused planes grounded for six months! To make matters more worse is, they can't convert them into cargo planes until they get approval from owners. That is a big opposite of what happened to Air Tanzania which quickly converted some of her birds into cargo planes without kneeling down to any man. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kazikazi:DUMB, DUMB, DUMB indeed. Stop throwing tantrum and deal with Facts, which source says skyscrapers should start from 152m. Or is it because the only three blue buildings in dar starts from 152m. Mbona ukona shida hivi msee. you'll have problems with this kind of inferiority complex. Lemme teach you now as well as redirect you to some sites. Skyscrapers are Buldings/towers with 100m+,. I'm sorry to say this but you still lag behind nigeria in skyscrapers. Now lemme direct you to this specific sites. 1.emboris 2 skyscrapercenter After you get the answer, you'll realize that Dar is still a baby in skyscrapers. 2 Likes |

Kazikazi:don't console yourself with this statement, Kenya airways alone fully owns 20 planes, we had 3 fully paid aircraft by 2018 and was to complete payment in 12months so last year that is, the break even mark was hitted this year after payments. So we currently have 40 total planes. 20 planes 20 aircraft. The rest are for lease and we're making profit out of them.. Some are private owned. Kenya Airways Owns 20 Out of a Fleet of 40 Planes – CEO Miriam Wangui 2 years Ago Kenya’s national airline owns 20 airplanes out of its entire fleet of 40 planes. The information has emerged in a letter from the Kenya Airways chief executive’s office to staff. Besides the 20 fully owned planes, KQ has completed payments for 3 aircrafts through a financing arrangement and it continues to pay for the remaining 17 aircrafts. KQ’s executive defended the decision to lease most of its aircrafts, as the new move in airline business is to lease planes for periods of up to 12 years. Lease agreements allow firms to capitalise on the limited financial resources by investing funds in network expansion instead of acquiring airplanes at huge costs. “This allows us to optimally use our limited financial resources for other investments such as network expansion as opposed to buying the aircraft, which would mean significant cash outlay. This may not be tenable for us as a company,” said the letter. KQ refuted claims that it had reduced its New York flights to 3 trips a week. The airline says it has adopted a seasonal cycle for the Nairobi-New York route that will have 5 flights in low season and 7 flights in high season. Often times, network expansion means an airline may incur losses for months or a year as it establishes its footing in the new route. Kenya Airways’ new link to New York is not yet profitable. The firm’s executive anticipates that the trend will continue for at least 12 months before they break even. |
