I had my phone interview yesterday the following questions were asked;

- Name
- Date of Birth
- Nationality

- what is your course title?
- why are you going to the UK?
- Why are you going to this particular school?
- what gave this school advantage over other schools?
- why are you doing this course?
- what are the modules in this course?

- who is sponsoring you?
- why is she sponsoring you?
- what does she do?
- where does she work?
- How much does she earn?

- What do you do?
- Where do you work?
- How much do you earn monthly?
- is anyone financially dependent on you?
- How much will be your maintenance/accommodation in the UK?
- Will you be coming back to your present job after completing this course?

- why are you going for this course now?
- what do you plan to do after completing this course?
- what are your future plans?
- Are you doing this course now because of the UK post-graduate visa?

There were other questions but I can't remember them all. The interview lasted for 45 minutes.
During the interview, the network was bad so she had to cut the call and call back.
The interviewer was really nice. She kept telling me to slow down as I'm a fast talker.

After the interview, I asked my own questions as well and she answered truthfully.

I hope this helps other people preparing for their interview.

Apart from this GENERIC questions, she asked other questions that was SPECIFIC to my application so please go over your applications and be honest.

All the Best.

This is true. My visa was issued on the 15th of September I think. I collected it three days later and on the attached letter it was stated that my visa is valid from 11th of October.
My program commences on the 26th of October and the possible date of arrival I filled in my application form was 18th of October. I think these were the factors that were considered.

mimilyrics:
No. Visas, especially student visas can be postdated weeks or days after a decision is made so even if you get your visa on August 1, you might not be able to use it till August 15 and beyond if that's the date on the visa.

Hello house I know this must have been asked like one million times but just to confirm that British airlines don’t ask for Covid 19 test and if I get challenged by immigration officers, I have to put it to them that British airways don’t ask for it undecided

Sometimes it is because the airlines give discounted tickets to agents and is a standard practice worldwide.

That maybe true but those discounted tickets are also available on airline websites if you know what you are doing. Generally nothing you get from agent that will be cheaper than the original source worldwide
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Oloshi83: 9:23am On Sep 24, 2020
BA only fly to London from Nigeria. So to buy a ticket to any other airport in the UK, it would be Lagos/Abuja - London - Third City e.g. Newcastle in this case. So the 266k fare is the 215k promo fare + the cost of a ticket from London to Newcastle.

gracedforever:

Good morning. Please I want to confirm, did your friend use wakanow? Thought it's only available for London and Newyork?

Did you ask how long it will take to process your application after the interview?

Unfortunately, this is not 100% correct. If it was true, agents wouldn’t exist.

Airlines typically offer agents bulk seats at discounted prices not available on their websites because they have the reach and can often attract the numbers required. These discounted tickets would normally have some sort of restrictions and it is a way for them to push sales especially when they’re struggling to put bums on seats.

As an individual, you can’t buy more than say <365 tickets a year assuming you travel every day of the year. Which is pretty much impossible. An agent can sell that in a matter of hours/days hence the exclusive deals they get. It’s pretty standard and makes business sense.

Please, do you think it is possible to still opt for delivery by courier after a decision jas been made for visa collection?

Okay. Please are you saying a flight from London to Newcastle is just about 56k, that's 93 pounds or so. That seems quite cheap cos I heard train from London to Newcastle could be up to 100 pounds.

Omo 14th for Standard Visa has gotten?

Are you sure the person didn't do priority? Or they mistakenly filed the person's application under priority.

I'm not sure how long it takes...but I'm assuming it shouldn't take more than 1 day or 2 for a decision to be made.

Hmmmm It seems like everyone that had a phone interview in September that has posted on this thread has not received any feedback.

I hope and pray from the end of this week or early next week we start getting decision mails. Hopefully they will be less busy and focus on deferred complex cases.

just reading through and for this one he failed it. I think he generally doesn’t like to accept when he’s wrong. You’re right here. Agents can sometimes offer you way cheaper than airlines. I’m not talking about roadside agents o. I’m referring to wakanow, travel start and likes. Like Olosho explained, they get discounted prices because of the number of seats they sell everytime and it makes a lot of sense. I have checked my trip to London on airlines and it’s very expensive, but cheaper on travelstart. Another thing is card payment. Most of our cards are restricted from online purchases so you can’t even buy directly from the airlines except you go to their office. Even cards that work will charge you mad exchange rate. So In this scenario agents are better. He’s right about the hassle of changing ticket if anything goes wrong but he failed the pricing aspect. My two cents sha

Basically what I tried to say when I first read his post. Using licensed agencies is not entirely bad. One just needs to be careful because they may or may not be helpful in resolving issues that arise after ticket purchase. However I personally booked my BA flight through one of these licensed agencies and the same flight on the BA website was N150,000 higher.
