I have said this and I will say it again.

If you have the option of doing the semester ONLINE, take it! Register 1 or 2 courses and do the exams.

This might be your only ticket to getting AD when the embassy resumes fully. Showing the embassy you are an enrolled student gives you a higher edge than people who will just be presenting only admission letters.
The worse case scenario will be the enrollment money you might lose if you eventually do not get AD.

Also, the school can give you another admission if you complete a semester and were still not able to come due to reasons that were not caused by you.
Online semester is NOT easy, but its doable. I did last semester all from Nigeria before coming back here to continue my 3rd semester which is also fully online.

Hello everyone, please I recently filled the online form to register for students visa under the B list and my program commences on the 5th October, 2020 though I have opted to take the online classes I am worried that the mail I received after filling the form says thus:
“ Approximately 4 to 6 weeks prior to your appointment to apply for a visa you will receive a e-mail with the exact date of your appointment.

If you don't receive an appointment confirmation email prior to your mentioned date of the beginning of your studies your registration can no longer be considered. In this case please cancel your registration. Thank you!”

He didn't rebook...he completed his winter enrollment in August..his appointment was cancelled Previously so he got a new date after he sent them mails

It depends on individual cities and their foreign offices.
Some are fast while others can be pretty slow.
I have seen some that were done between 2 - 5 weeks. Again, it depends.

It doesn't have a fixed duration, your sponsor can get it same day he went/had appointment with ausländerbehöde. But now it's on appointment.
Before the pandemic people can walk in and get it immediately but not so anymore.
