At Least 50 Persons Injured As Gas Tanker Explodes In Lagos

A gas tanker exploded on Thursday in the Ifako-Ijaiye area of Lagos with at least 50 persons sustaining burn injuries.

Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident to Channels Television.

The LASEMA boss said efforts are being made by his men to put out the resulting fire from the explosion with support from the Lagos State Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

On Twitter, the emergency agency asked Lagosians to remain calm.

According to LASEMA investigations, an unknown truck conveying gasoline had a lone accident and exploded.

“The impact of the explosion led to fire on adjoining buildings and several vehicles burnt,” the agency said. “Several persons were injured and have been taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Too much greed and foolishness on the part of our leaders, to me Lagos is too congested let them push some things to other states, if not things like this will continue to happen.

A small state like that carrying all those people is not Nice

In this country where there's no emergency hotline
something like this happens it's left for the people to put it out or just video it and watch it burn

The fvck

Niggarr!!

Too many lives and properties are being lost via tanker's explosions.

The other day, disaster struck at Lokoja.

We have got to find another means of transporting gasoline products.

They pose too many dangers to other road users while transporting them.

For an underdeveloped nation where people can drink alcohol and get on the road with zero worries, it is not safe cos we don't know what these tankers drivers are drinking, do you?
