Good day House, I submitted proof of upfront medical via webform about a week ago after getting medical request and haven't got any message confirming that it has been received. My status has not also been updated. Please how many days does it take to get status update regarding this? or should I resubmit? I sent the webform using this link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx Please anyone with useful information should help. Thank you very much. |

Thank you. I understand your point. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Akannitommy: 1:47pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
You will have to be patient judging from both my own personal experience and a few other similar cases reported on this platform. The best you can do is what you have commenced doing. Sending web forms as reminder and maybe directly emailing the country office in charge with the e-medical slip as attachment. I have been in a similar situation with no update since Sept. 3rd, so patience it is! #it shall end in praise! Dovelove543: |

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate. I actually included fixed deposit of 10m for my husband in the application I have applied for GCMS NOTES but I need to ask if I should apply as 1. Acting as Self sponsorship- Is it Advisable I increase funds in my account, pay the tuition fees, buy GIT worth 10K CAD and reapply after the GCMS NOTES ARE BACK. or 2. get husband to cosponsor and increase funds in both our account with GIT 10k CAD BUT ONLY ( PAYING PART TUITION OF LIKE 20K FROM 37K PLEASE ADVICE Also when reapplying Can I resuse my Police report, Upfront medical earlier used in August. quote author=demiiii post=94294406]
Most of the refusals I see here is either as a result of poor documentation or the inability of the applicant to follow the various standards and criteria set out in the immigration regulations and requirements for Canada study Visa. Madam, the primary reason why the visa officer rejected your application was basically because your mum is the main sponsor to your application. Another reason is that your hubby personal financial establishment is very weak (3M closing balance) with 4 kids staying behind in Nigeria. How would they (spouse and kids) be faring when the entire funds meant for the family upkeep has been mapped out for your studies in Canada?. This totally makes no reasonable sense to the visa officer that you've adequate funds to embark on this project. By operation of law, and in view of your family composition, the visa officer has no objection but to reject such application considering that your spouse is not well established in Nigeria and the incentives of staying back in Canada far outweighs that of your home country. Going forward, my advice in your next attempt is that you should properly build your husband's account statement to the tune of 10M if possible while your mum can co-sponsor your education. I hope this information is helpful in your next application. It will end in praise

|

I think you are in the same shoes with my daughter. I'd taken her for medical exam after receiving her AIP...incidentally, the medical request from IRCC came exactly 3 days after the UPFRONT MEDICAL EXAM> i've sent webforms with the e-medical information sheet to them without feedback (only feedback was the e-medical sheet has been forwarded to the appropriate desk/office. No update on her GC Key account profile...exactly 4 weeks today. Dovelove543: |

Good day house, your contributions are wonderful. Pls I need advise here! Someone currently works as Financial Sales Executive with 2yrs experience in an insurance company, though has BSc in Human Physiology. Now, got admission in two schools both are 2yr programs, courses are International Business Administration (IBA), tuition/living exp for 2yrs is 41k CAD and the other is Strategic Marketing Communications (SMC), tuition/living exp for 2yrs is 54k CAD. Concerns: 1. He can afford to self sponsor IBA which is 41k but does International Bus Adm relate to financial Sales executive enough to convince VO? 2. His traditional ruler can afford to sponsor him in Strategic Marketing Communications -54kCAD which the applicant can't afford to self sponsor. But the king is not willing to provide an account statement whether his personal acct or community acct. However, he insist that the 1yr tuition and 1yr living exp will be transferred to the student's account. Also willing to provide intro letter stating that the 2nd yrs tuition/expenses will be provided in the end of the first yr. Will VO accept this? 3. For a 2yrs course, if someone has tuition for 2yrs and living expenses for 1yr, will it be a red flag if it's a self-sponsored trip? Pls your contributions will be helpful |

Greetings everyone, I received mails from IRCC and VFS that my processed passport has been dispatched. I have seen the correspondence letter and counterfoil , but could not print the counterfoil, how could I print this counterfoil plz ? NB: Applied :19/01/2020 Medical request:23/01/2020 Medical passed: 12/02/2020 Approval/original passport request:13/02/2020 Passport submitted: 17/02/2020 4 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Naijaforeigner: 2:41pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
umulobi: Congratulations. That was a long wait since february. I don't think you can print the counterfoil from your GC key account. You will only get notified on your GC key account that your counterfoil has been stamped, document number, status, expiry and status date updated. This notification will be under the document status section. When you physically get your passport, you can then print your counterfoil (which is the visa stamp on your passport) The documents you can print from your GC key account will be under the section titled messages about your application and available to be downloaded (such as your correspondence letter, passport request letter). |

Chocs: Taking the applicants plan of studies into account, the applicant does not appear to be sufficiently well established that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense. The applicant's plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented. The applicant's prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application, i am not satisfied that the applicant will depart canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. for the reasons above, i have refused this application. Above is what my GCMS note says. Profile for my last application Sep 2019 Age 28years Graduated with 2;1 in Electrical Electronics Engr and got admitted for masters in Information Technology security Got employed at a Telecom service provider company immediately after NYSC 2016 till date Documents submitted; B.eng cert, sponsorship letters from Aunt and husband who resides in US, their bank statements(all joint accounts) and property documents Nb; Bank statements are well funded, even pay slips showing they are well paid annually Also submitted their Birth certificate alongside my parents own to show my aunt and dad have same parents Now, i want to re-apply and wish to get advice, these are what changed Got admission to a better ranking school than the other, the first school ranked about 5k in the world while the present is ranked about 1k in the world and about 30 in canada Using my mums account statements as a sponsor (having about 13m, could be increased if neccessary) school fees 33k Wrote IELTS exam Your advice is highly needs as i need opinions as to also go ahead to apply for winter (jan) 2021 as time seems limited or should i defer the admission again and apply for next year? Also does the foreign account statement used earlier a factor? I will answer any more questions needed Regards |

Good day Gurus in the house. I made my first application in February and I got a rejection. The GCMS notes shows that the Refusal reason was based on Current employment situation and Home ties. I have addressed these issues to the best of my ability and I want to try again. I still intend to use the same sop but I want to also submit an LOE tackling the Refusal reasons. Please can someone help me with a sample of an LOE? Frankrobbn1 and other Gurus please help. |

Kekereekun123:No! Point No1 is not lack of sufficient fund but how the work experience relates to proposed course. Or do you mean the VO may conclude on insufficient fund on point 2 & 3? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by demiiii(f): 4:09pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
What he is saying is that your funds are not enough. The fund available should cover your Tuition, living expenses and more funds should be available in your account or your sponsor. The extra fund should be enough to cater for their expenses while you are studying. buggi102kruse: |

Hello, I’m not a guru but from what I know, number 2 will most likely lead to a refusal. As for number 3, if you are self sponsored and can’t prove total funds, it might lead to a rejection too, they would want to know how you would raise the remaining money needed while in Canada without working more than the permitted time for students. Though only 1 year tuition and 1 year living expense is required to be shown, I think they will want to see how you would pay for the remaining year since you are self sponsored. buggi102kruse: |

Good day everyone. I appreciate the info so far. However, i have a question bothering me deeply.. My wife want to apply for Study permit and include our 8 months old daughter and I as dependants/spouse in the application. 1. Do we stand a chance of getting approval or does adding family members affect the chances of success? 2. Can she apply alone first and when she gets approved and travel, then me and our daughter will apply? It this a possible route? Any implications? I will appreciate your guidance please. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 4:22pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
Hello. I’m not a guru but from your GCMS note, your fund doesn’t seem like the problem. The problem might have been from your statement of purpose(SOP) You did not explain how the course would be beneficial to you considering the huge money you’ll be spending on it. And maybe your SOP was not well written. 13 million alone with a tuition of 33k is not enough. You need tuition+ at least 10,000 CAD for living expenses. And your sponsor should still have something left. I hope the gurus @frankrobbn1 and others would throw more light into this. All the best alexflint20: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 4:29pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
I’m sorry to hear about the refusal. Please let her order her GCMS notes to see a more specific reason. What was her msc in? Is it related to the PhD she applied for? Was her statement of purpose well written? What proof of funds did she submit? Hopefully gurus in the house can throw more light into this. @frankrobbn1 ayoadefantastic: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 4:33pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
Hello, I’m not an expert but 1 and 2 are possible. But 2 might be “easier” as she can use you as home ties. But leaving an 8 month old baby behind might also raise a red flag. If she’s applying with the baby, she’ll have to make day care arrangements for the baby and prove that it won’t affect her studies. If she’s applying with you and the baby then you’ll need to have other ties to your home country and a good financial standing that will compel you to return to the country after her studies. I’ll wait for the gurus to throw more light into this. @frankrobbn donbuscka: 1 Like |

Pls what are the best proof of fund one can use. I only used the scholarship I got for mine 2yrs ago. Thought that would suffice but obviously it's not in her case. Chocs: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 4:40pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
I think it is always advisable to include funds even if one has funding/scholarship. Her SOP should also be worked on. Maybe a guru in the house can help her review it or get a paid professional. But most importantly please order her GCMS notes right away as it can take up to 35 days to arrive. Google gcms notes and you’ll find how to order it, it costs $12. With this, you’ll be able to see the visa officers comment and work on it before reapplying to prevent another rejection. All the best. ayoadefantastic: |
