1) You have to prove he was not instructed to stay wide. Shaw had no such problems. Somehow the instructions got to Shaw but not AWB.

2) Why should a professional defender need in-game instructions on the differences between playing FB and playing WB.


AWB is not tactically sound. This is what you should accept and you will know peace.
Outside his 1v1 tackles he is a poor defender and any sort of complicated defense scheme usually leaves him struggling.
