When i objected Havertz signing, some people said he's a generational talent, he's the best young player in bundesliga, he's this, he's that.
This lad is a striker, that is where he performed best for Leverkusen. He has played 3 matches against strong oppositions yet he was no where to be found.

Werner has never been a centre forward, he plays behind a 9, Lampard knew this but went ahead. Werner has been playing on the left wing, a position filled by Pulisic last season . Where will he play if the American comes back?


We needed a centre forward to challenge Tammy

An attacking midfielder who can play as a 10, initiate attack from the midfield, dazzle us with his eye catching long and short range passes and fill in the centre midfield as well.

A centre back who can lead our back line and dish out instructions not a washed Thiago Silva.

A left back who can cover Alonso defensive lapses and send wicked crosses to the box and lastly
A goalkeeper who can replace Kepa.

But no, he wasted fortunes on Werner, Havertz and Thiago Silva.

That was one of the major thing we needed .

Timo Werner has been showing individually brilliance and I've been impressed with him but my point is, this lad was brought in to fill the centre 9 role, push Tammy out of the first team but as we can see, he is never going to be that box 18 rat.

During the second half of the game who controlled our midfield after Kovacic was subbed off. Mount showed some Lampard-esque yesterday but who was putting those balls in the box or moving it about dribbling and finding pockets of spaces in the box, who gave that 1-2 assist with CHO.
The agenda to hate young players still amazes me. Havertz had two rough games due to match fitness and poor positioning. Anytime he's a CAM he delivers just like yesterday so I don't get this your agenda my guy, or do you expect him to shoot from anywhere and it'll enter because he's 72 million?
The only signing I have a problem with is Werner. Just be making runs like gala seller with no aim, shooting rubbish but I won't judge because we don't have "full squad yet" but till then I'm not impressed with Werner rn

A target man would be really needed. Werner is not a target man and I honestly don't see how Werner fits into this Chelsea side when Pulisic and Ziyech do come back into the team.

Havertz and Mount can not play together. They have the same similarities that cancel out each other which means both players will always do the same work on the field. Mount is not a gifted player and is highly limited technically. Combined with the fee paid for Kai,he unfortunately has to sit out.

Havertz needs to be given a free role like James at Everton if he's to he utilized properly. Kovacic/Kante should be doing all the hard and dirty work while he gets the glory by picking up cherry passes

A Kovacic/Kante midfield base won't actually work tbf. There are little to no progression of the ball from defense to attack so one has to play as Box-to-box midfielder. Kante is limited going forward but has the work rate doing that job. While Kova doesnt have that work rate,he can draw in the fouls and move the ball forward

Lampard needs a new defensive coach. While the players needed are there,there still some soul missing. They just need better coaching in that part of the field IMHO

Maybe Werner can be our Firmino but that would mean sacrificing his goal boots sadly,it’s really confusing rn because he’ll always drift to the LW. It’s sad because Pulisic is a better LW than him and Tammy is a better point man so he’s typically sitting on the fence here,I’ll love to see a midfield of Kova,Mount and Havertz against inferior teams because a midfield of Kante and Kova would give you all the recycling but nothing going forward sadly and it’s about the goals......how I wish we still had Matic in this side

Ziyech will not give Salah numbers so Chelsea can't play like Liverpool. They need to play more like Everton who have a target man in DCL and have the likes of Richarlison,Docoure and Alan doing all that running just to give more freedom for James to operate.

Chelsea needs to play like that. They don't need a matic type of Midfielder to play against lesser team. Kante or Kova can do that work. All they need

Lampard needs to be more fluid with his formations if he's going to perform with this team.

If passing backwards and sideways at any slight pressure from the opponent is an expressive football abeg then I don't want expressive football at Chelsea.
