Nouman said something important. Havertz likes drifting towards the right side of the pitch, Werner drifts centrally too. With all of them moving towards the right side, Alonso was left out. When Odoi was introduced, he moved to the left side which allowed Azpi to join our attack. If Pulisic or Odoi don't play there, we may have issues going forward.

He didnt see West brom as a team that could cause a shock, hence he decided to experiment.

I didn't see any chance coming from the left side although I missed like 12 minutes.

why are you talking like this, emerson went into last season as first choice lb not alonso but after series of stinkers same you fans were calling for his head.
alonso was selected instead but after some couple of disasterclasses he was also benched so azpi played at lb.

as far as i am concerned
alonso == emerson
two average players who should not be playing for chelsea, if emerson had played yesterday it would have been the same result or worse.
