There are drugs that can be taken that will reduce the number of episodes she has to the barest minimum. I've seen people who have the same condition get better, with decreasing frequency and period of convulsions. The drugs used are not that expensive, so all you need do is just visit a specialist hospital. I'd have mentioned a drug here, but I can't arbitrarily give a prescription without a detailed history of the individual. She really shouldn't continue suffering because she assumes the financial implication of treatment is high, it isn't. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Chef2000:Nairaland is a big community but not a hospital! A wrong medical advice here can be dangerous to her health! Take her to a federal medical centre or teaching hospital to see a specialist if you love her.. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Chef2000: If it is as recent as 2019 then it may not be epilepsy. She's having seizures due to an underlying illness that could be fatal. If she dies nairaland people will only tell you sorry. If it is epilepsy please consider marijuana, fresh one that you grew yourself o abeg. Read and do your own research so that you will understand where I am coming from. 3 Likes |

Chef2000: Obviously that's not epilepsy. Ask if she's ever had an accident that caused a huge impact to her head. That could cause a brain tumor. Tumors are a major cause of seizures; and like someone already said, seizures are different from epilepsy. 6 Likes |

She needs medical attention broda, I won't advise self prescription from Nairaland. Her case might be different, just take her to a hospital for proper check up and prescriptions. It is well with her. 1 Like |

Chef2000:My friend had epilepsy for 6 years. All medical help failed, he turned to God. On the sixth year he was in a dream and saw 7 men on a white Rob remove something like a maggot from the back of his neck. The maggot is actually huge than normal maggot. He said he tried to kill it in that dream but the men told him to forget the maggot and enjoy his new found freedom. He woke up and it was about 2AM. This is 1996. Till date he has never experienced that again. I as a person has problems that made me stool blood anytime I go to toilet from 1995 to 2006. In one Sunday service a pastor(the poor type) prayed for sick people, and I believed with faith and it worked. Mind you for many years I have always had different pastors visit our church and make such prayers, but that day I had the out of the world faith. My point is, God is the answer to any problem to them that believe 27 Likes 2 Shares |

i dont think there is any known cure for epilepsy , there are some ailments that orthodox medicine cant cure but they only know how to manage them , if you go to the hospital you will be given some drug to help the lady manage , but as per curing , it seems you have to go spiritual about it , either prayer in church, mosque or you go for traditional medicine Chef2000: 1 Like |

Where are you located? If in the South-East/Imo State, I recommend to visit Regions Stroke and Neuroscience Hospital in Owerri. They have a free to low-cost epilepsy clinic for qualified participants. The medical doctor who oversees their epilepsy cases is trained in the U.S. and highly qualified. Please visit a specialized center for neurological issues, as recommended by others, and do not result your girlfriend to self-medication. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Chef2000: Those seizures are simply as a result of her brain reacting to some allergic conditions. There are drugs that suppress these triggers, but they're a little expensive, and she might have be on them for sometime. Epilepsy doesn't have a medically known cure. It can only be managed or taken away by God. The latter has healed at least 2 people I know of. However, let her watch herself so closely. There could be somethings which she does or likes doing that might be triggering the seizures. Did she ever have an accident or incident where something hard hit her head? Is there a family history of Epilepsy in her family? Has she been on any drug/medication prior to the onset of these epileptic attacks? And how old is she? Answer this and we'll take it from there. 5 Likes |

I'm no medical doctor. However, Im committed to researchiing chronic diseases; its causes, symtoms remedy if any and care management in the event of no cure. Well, from the description op, I will suggest you take her to specialist neuro hospital and demand a comprehensive physical examination be done on her, also request an MRI be performed on her brain. These two tests should reveal some interesting information. PS: i doubt thats the only symtom she is experiencing, she may be having tremors. Ask her |

Chef2000: Oga..... seizures can also be as a result of cancer or tumor or a recent injury/ trauma to the head....it’s not only epilepsy that causes seizures people don’t just start developing epilepsy when they are already an adult...it would have showed up earlier than that... She needs an MRI scan....if you can afford it take her to LUTH....they will refer you.... for now.. don’t let her sleep over... if she die for ur house... police go say na ritual u wan do oooo No talk say I no tell you oooo 4 Likes |

Chef2000:That could be juju, if its like that. People are dangerous these days. That was how one foolish woman poisoned me and I was going from one hospital to another, thinking it was all sorts of things. It later turned out to be poison and it was by the grace of God I survived. |

Chef2000: There's a solution, visit an hospital preferably a tertiary facility like a teaching hospital. and if it's truly nocturnal epilepsy the treatment is very cheap. I had it 2011/2012 I was placed on a single medication that I used daily for 1yr or thereabouts and I was completely cured 2 Likes |

Chef2000:If you are Christian pray and also visit a doctor, epilepsy is not a spiritual issue as we take it..... it is a seizure that occurs in the brain...... Pray to God and also visit a doctor............ Lastly google it..... there are lot of information online to help you and your girlfriend. 1 Like |
