Lecturers of Abia State University Uturu are currently protesting over their unpaid 6 months Salary by the Abia State government.
It will be recalled that since Dr.Ikpeazu; a university lecturer and former HOD was elected as the governor in 2015, Academic and non academic staff of various tertiary institutions in Abia have been protesting for unpaid salaries.
Abia poly staff are yet to receive a pay for the past 23 months.
Abia State college of Education Arochukwu.... 32 months.
Abia State primary/secondary school teachers 14 Months

The lecturers questioned the rationale behind plans by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to establish a new university in Aba when his government is yet to pay salaries And pensions.

Six months is too small o. They should just quietly go and sit down because Ikpeazu is owing secondary school teachers 12 months and pensioners more than 18 months arrears which he has asked them to forfeit and they refused.

Is this not part of what ASUU is generally on strike for: Proliferation of creation of Universities by State and Federal Governments?
Why do state and politicians take University creation as constituency project? Now you have higher institutions and you can not pay salary, definitely, the institution will be illequiped, unfortunately, you're clamouring for the creation of another one shocked
Are we generally stupid in this country?
