Argh!!!
Bro the midfield will create chances first na, you think if ceballos didn't come in lacazette will find way to miss 2 chances.
That's why I made reference to Leeds those guys are good at keeping the ball in midfield and that trouble lfc

I didn't say we don't need midfield na. I just told u that teams with better midfield than Arsenal's lost against loserpool last season.

Watford and Arsenal that handed them defeat last season didn't have the Best midfield in the league yet they wọn against them. We lost because Arteta's tactics were found out by Klopp.

The match I watched today was lost at the tactics table.

You can't play same pattern over three matches against the same team-building a team like Liverpool and expect not to be found out. I would have expected him to surprise them with a different tactics.

But we move...

Exactly! The tactics sold us out, but we move.

I'm more interested in how we react to this loss. That will go a long way to decide what shape our season will take.

Bros you still think defense is the problem grin leno made the playing from back so difficult and lfc didn't make it easy too the only time we did it was when laca scored
But gabriel was there when we struggled against hammers,, until we sort out that midfield its same old story

I agree with you. The midfield is a sticking point. The reason we are still playing a back 3 is because of our midfield. The defense has been sorted, we just need Arteta to get the combination right. It would be interesting to see what he does during the next EPL fixture at the back. Like I said in my previous post, I want to see a Gab/Saliba combination so we can evaluate and know what we have.

Thank you it wasn't difficult after all, the tactics he have been playing was due to his team strength.

When I saw the line up, it was a head scratcher like I said. Last week, I remember asking if we will see Saliba since he did not play the Carabao cup? Holding needs a stable player alongside him, I will cash in on him if the right offer came through and we have the back up in Chambers. He was just as confused as Luiz throughout the game. The compulsion to build from the back meant he was under intense pressure and struggled with his passing.

Ultimately, I will like to see a Gab/ Saliba combination soon so we can evaluate what we have at the back.

Baba, stop putting the blame on the defenders the midfield was totally outplayed what do expect from your defenders when the midfield exposed them to pressure...

Last season, we won because Lacaboom disturbed their defense which force them to commit errors.

This loss didnt even alloe one see the good contribution of Elneny. Truly Honeymoon don pass. Dunno why he'd allow Klopp express his own tactic. Whats that? Respect? Wisdom? Funny.

Im not against the outback try, but these defenders would never be perfect dor such a task.
Another option however risky was to bring Willian into midfield to add more bodies since Liverpool concentrated on the left. An extra man in the middle right would have allowed AMN push a bit forward on the left occupying Alex Trent-Arnold and freeing Auba more. This will either create more space for Auba to counter or force Arnold to retreat. The pressure on the left was much and I knew with time we would capitulate.

Leno is terrible, xhaka is useless today, tomorrow and forever
Until arteta gets Aurora and partey his original gameplay will show. I tried to explain to you guys he's only playing this style cos of the players he have but many of you think defense is the problem yet he used his last season defenders today and gabriel is on bench.
Na here we still they

You don't need the best midfield to beat loserpool, u need Ur offensive players taking their chances when it comes calling and then containing their own offensive players as much as u can.

Watford did exactly just that last season before the COVID-19 outbreak, Arsenal did Same in the league during project restart and even community shield as well.

What happened to the rhythm of the team when Ceballos came in? I guess he wasn't a midfielder, bro, we need to do sth to that midfield or else nah to fight for top10 this season...

Funny enough the player Fkhalifah scouted to succeed Auba was on scoresheet against us...

You are not getting it. Arteta realized his plan of building from the back and launching long balls to pick out Auba or Willian and rely on their speed to heed loserpool's CB'S wasn't working hence he brought in Ceballos.

Ceballos' introduction was Arteta trying to tweak his already found out tactics. The matchh was not lost because of lack of midfielders, defenders or keepers's inadequacies....It was lost because of the coach's tactics that didn't work out as planned.

That Sallah's run is everything you want from a Winger, very direct amd purposeful!
Even the Average Iwobi did that a lot against Liverpool in his Arsenal days.

Mr Pepe's 1998 touchline dribbling and cut cut and cut is not for English football but ligue1.

Bro Go and sleep; Leno did not cost us the match. Sallah was allowed to stroll into the left side of our box for the first goal, Willian lost his man ( Robertson) for the second goal and the third goal was a loose ball Jota was able to hit well to get a deflection goal.

Today is not the day Leno takes the blame. Today's L is on Arteta and his tactics baba

More than a decade of supporting Arsenal, I have learnt to be realistic about arsenal chance of winning any match.
I know the closest thing we can get at anfield is draw. Beating us doesn't pain as much as seeing Laca missed those glorious chances.
And about Leno, Martinez should have been our number 1. Martinez is the better keeper allrounder. His ball distribution today might have helped us yesterday. That Leno seems sluggish at times as regard passing from the back.
Anyway, we move .
I trust Arteta to go back to the books.

From what I got from the game and why we lost

1... Klopp outwitted Arteta tactically.
If you notice, arsenal have a way of passing out from the back using keeper- Luiz-xhaka one side, or keeper-holding- elneny the other side to beat the opposition attackers press(when passing out from back). Then after successfully doing that, they advance using the wing backs (either bellerin or Niles depending on which wing).
Well, why I said klopp was really smart was that he knew that was the key to arsenal build up, so he stationed all his midfielders to man mark our wingbacks (Niles and bellerin), while also man marking xhaka and elneny too.
With this, we would just be camped in our box, since the personnel which are supposed to transition the ball from defence to midfield to attack are already man marked. The defenders become confused cos all areas to pass the ball diagonally( using the wing backs up field) have been man marked too. Also they are under pressure from Liverpool's front three to, so the next possible option is to take it straight to midfield. Leno isn't a good passer of the ball like Martinez, while Liverpool ensured that it was holding who did the clearing out and not Luiz(sense from klopp), since they know he wasn't good at long passes like Luiz or Tierney.

2... The easiest way to beat those press is if we have ball carriers and dribblers as the transitional midfielders (the xhaka and elneny job). And also the wing backs to not be easily dispossessed wen pressured. Well elneny tried but xhaka was a big culprit. Bellerin tried, but Niles was a big culprit too. Also, if only Leno and holding were good passers of the long ball(**cough** Gabriel, (and we miss Martinez too, but sha we move)), we would have easily beaten the Liverpool's front press, as we might pass the ball straight to willian or auba or lacazette in the middle. But then, those two just budey the ball anyhow and our possession was lost.
No wonder wen ceballos came on, we saw more possession(unlike 1st half), more transition and more clear cut chances.

3... Klopp have given top managers the key to stop our build up and if it happens like that, I guess our honeymoon using this formation against big team is over. It'll be interesting to see how Arteta would be flexible from now on and see if he has something up his sleeves again.

Till then, I still remain hopeful!!
Up gunners!!!

Your matter ehn, as I dey look am u go worst past our politicians cause your level of twisting words no b from this planet.

Never forget for every lay down tactics is aim to bring out +ve result nd failure to bring out such +ve boil down to those who carried the tactics out either they did their job diligently or not.

Back to our discussion, the coach tactics that didn't work out as planned was that the players failed to carry it out diligently...

Tierney bleeped up with the first goal, Willian and co with the second goal...

Our lack of ball carrier in that match yesterday costed us big time that's why when Ceballos came in the attack transition was mad a little if not for bro Laca that sold the match out cool.

What I could deduce from the match is that if we cant get a proper left winger, DM, and Amf b4 this transfer closes down I fear we might suffer till January transfer window open cause our pattern of play against the big sides has been exposed by Klopp.
