MarrisManah: I swear na big lie, if the people are corrupt, it will be hard for the leader to be able to govern properly.... Corruption had eaten deep in this country, even a Local govt chairman can't know all the corrupt practices going on in his ward, talk less of a whole President of a Nation.... Corruption in this country is already becoming generational, we the masses indulge in corrupt practices without knowing self.... |

Abouwaza: Trying to defend a failed government, but you ended up shooting yourself (and your government) in the leg. "...we all are thieves..." is a hasty generalization, but it shows that you're a thief, and you believe that the president is too- after all, he is one of "we all". |

MarrisManah: You are absolutely right if buhari is truly mr intergrity as being portrayed by his zombie supporters there's no way his ministers will be looting openly without any fears. How can one of his minister come boldly to be telling nigerians that she is feeding school children that are with their parents at home during the lockdown with #1b daily? |

Embezzlement/looting of public funds in China is punishable by death. With such a law the people sat up. Some were used as examples. Others who dare the law continue to pay the supreme sacrifice. Can Nigerian lawmakers pass such a law the punishes embezzlement/looting of public funds with death? Is it possible for Nigerians to force the national assembly to pass such a law? If truly our president wants to fight corruption he should pursue such law and ensure its implementation. Ghana went on its path of glory when Fl. lt. Jerry Rawlings took over in 1980 and cleared General Achampong and his cabal. Today Nigerian children go to school in Ghana. Nigerian technocrats are found there. Things have vastly improved with far less corruption. |

MarrisManah:true trying to absolve the leadership of blame Is stupidity, when we all know there are sacred cows as long as the president has his own skeletons and there are sacred cows aka the untouchables nothing will change, only fools believe that buhari is fighting corruption when we all know the reverse to be the case. |

icebird25: On asset recovery, Owasanoye said the commission recovered N16 billion from Ministry of Agriculture paid into individual accounts for non-official purposes. N4.2 billion paid to individuals had no satisfactory explanations. He said further the Commission also discovered over N2.5 billion appropriated by a deceased senior civil servant in Ministry of Agriculture for himself and cronies Nevertheless, we discovered payments to some federal colleges for school feeding in the sum of N2.67 billion during lockdown when the children are not in school, and some of the money ended up in personal accounts. Some of the discoveries include life payment of bulk sums to individuals/staff accounts, including project funds; non-deductions/remittance of taxes and IGR; payments of unapproved allowances, bulk payment to micro finance banks, payment of arrears of salary and other allowances of previous years from 2020 budget, payment of salary advance to staff, under-deduction of PAYE and payment of promotion arrears due to surplus in Personnel Cost, abuse and granting of cash advances above the approved threshold and irregular payment of allowances to principal officers. Even the ministry of agaric that most Nigerians believe that the government wasn't funding adequately! The little ones they're getting is still being looted. |

infohenry: Good morning. When we said in 2014 that corruption was an issue of structure folks went for our head like we didn't want them to govern. Six years later how far? The only difference between pre 2015 and post 2015 corruption is magnitude. There is far less to steal today. Impunity today is escalated.... Who steals food from little children for heavens sake.... Can it get any lower? |

EMMY76: Because his ministers fell from heaven? We have pastors and imams whose children became armed robbers and yahoo boys. Even if they are caught as it happened now, do we even have strict penalty like death sentence for mega looting? My friend, it's no longer about whether Buhari has integrity or not, it's about what we have become individually and as a nation. How can one of his minister come boldly to be telling nigerians that she is feeding school children that are with their parents at home during the lockdown with #1b daily? I read the whole news and I discovered that career officers literally shared the funds among themselves. I guess the naive ministers spoke to the documents they presented before her, how the fund was used to feed the students. Some of those people have spent 35 years in service, they're the masters. On asset recovery, Owasanoye said the commission recovered N16 billion from Ministry of Agriculture paid into individual accounts for non-official purposes.
