Since the prison terms run concurrently,it means she will spend 7 years only in prison.

If the sentence is backdated to 2014 or 2015,she may end up spending only 1or 2 years in jail.

The most difficult part is asking her to refund all the money she stole.

It may render her penniless for life.

I don't like this our choice of words jare, e just dey deceive person.
Na 7yrs be her sentence as the sentence is on 14charges with 7yrs each and they are to run concurrently, so she should be out after 3½yrs, if day and night equals 2days, or after 7yrs.

To my understanding, it is not actually 98 years. She was sentenced 7 years each for the 14 crimes she committed, but she will serve it concurrently i.e she will just serve one 7 years for all the 14 crimes committed, all together.

She is spending total of 7 years in jail, in real terms, as the jail term are to run CONCURRENTLY( ie , all the jail terms run at the same time) . She isn't spending 98 years behind bars.

Scam an American widow as a Nigerian living in Nigeria and you'll get a maximum of two years imprisonment but scam a Nigerian bank that is obviously richer than the widow of funds lesser than that of the American widow and you'll get almost 100 years in imprisonment.

Wait... do you think it is the banker , lawyer , medical doctor, accountant, professional footballer or someone who has never engaged in violence that initiates a jungle justice attack?

Second question: Who is more likely to chase and kill a person who scammed him? (a) An innocent old man who has been ripped off by scammers (b) A crime syndicate who has been ripped off by his fellow gang member

This country sef, poor man can never get a matchable justice for a crime committed. since she was sentence to 98 years, why telling her to refund the money she stole. mtcheeeeeeeew Las Las, the world balance, but for Nigeria we no stand well.

Guys, a concurrent sentence differs from a consecutive sentence.

As this is a concurrent sentence, all terms run together, however if it were to be a consecutive sentence, the terms will run one after the other.

Hence, she's spending only 7 years in jail (it will even be shorter cause her period of detention would also be deducted).

The judge sentenced her to seven years in prison without an option of fine on each of the 14 counts, which will run concurrently.

I think she will spend 7 years.

Nigerians. You give them job, problem. They steal you dry. You don't give them job problem, they complain and complain. Sometimes I think that Nigerians deserve the types of leaders they got. Leaders are stealing and looting, the citizens are stealing, killing, and looting. What is wrong with people?
