Ibiade2020:
Please I filed an administrative review in response to a tier 4 visa refusal and this has exceeded the 28days timeline. I wrote the administrative review email and was told that the review has been completed and sent to the original decision making centre for dispatch to me and any further action that may be required.

When I asked for a copy of the result, I was told that All further actions fall to the original decision making centre and that if by the weekend I don't get a reply from the decision making centre they will chase a reply for me from the DMC.

Does this imply that my review was successful?

what was the reason given by UKVI for visa denial ?

Yes o.

Got my passport back today with a Visa in it.

So happy.

For context,
This is what happened.

Submitted on the 14th of September.
Biometrics was on the 18th of September (I had someone I paid to give me an early date) as I initially got 30th of September and latest day for enrollment was 28tj September, I wanted to do biometrics before that date.

Decision mail was on the 22nd of September.
(I paid for Priotity service)

Collection mail from TLS was on the 23rd of September.
So as at when I was asking these questions I had already got decision mail but I was just worried that it was a refusal.

Today September 28th,DHL delivered my passport with Visa in it.

Beyond excited.

Congrats happy for you

I filled a feedback form provided on TLS website and a refund request form was sent to me to fill via email. Still waiting for a response though.

You'll find the feedback form here: https://pos.tlscontact.com/abv_en/contact (The form is for those who did their application from Abuja. You'll probably find a similar form for other locations too).

I want my sibling to apply for the course as a quick way to be a registered Teacher in UK.

MSc in Education is a not a route to teaching Licence in UK, so I am waiting for feedback from those that applied for the course. Please let me know when you get your visa. Thanks

What are the other possible routes to teaching Licence in the UK? Already applied for MA in Education, and hoping it will lead to registration.
Kindly shed light on this Ma.
For now... grin

Okay sir grin

Your school should be able to guide you better if you ask this same question with them. If you check the school website very well, they always put it under the course details that this route will not qualify you for QTS(in England) or GTCS(scotland) meaning that you won't be eligible to register with the teaching Council with your Masters in Education. Masters in Education is not a route to teaching licence. Also you need to apply for PGCE through UCAS.

Here are some options.
1. Get someone living abroad to pay for you using their foreign credit/debit card.
2. Open a domiciliary account, fund it with dollars, get the debit card and pay with that.
3. Contact your school's representative in Nigeria and they may be able to help.
4. Wait till CBN lifts the restrictions on naira cards.
5. Try to sort out your issue with paga, and use that.

Thank you so much. I went with the first option

Hello, I was thinking of paying for priority but my school just informed me that there is no priority service again.
How true is this?
Has anybody done priority this week?
Thanks

I'm using Airbnb too and I paid in advance. I've used Airbnb in the past and you can get refunds if there is a problem with the accommodation when you get there and all that. But on the other hand, that was pre-Covid, might be a bit more difficult or slower these days.

Secondly, since you're going with your family, its preferable that you dont rent a house online from Nigeria sight unseen. Video viewings can only go so far. Book and pay for at least 3 weeks in your Airbnb so that after the 2 week quarantine, you/your spouse have another week to go around and inspect houses yourself before you rent, get to know the city/town somewhat to have an idea of the area/neighbourhood where you'd like to live, etc. If you prepay for a house you've not seen and eventually dislike, it might not be easy to break the lease, landlords need money these days.

I actually paid for one month (28 days) because some Airbnb hosts give a monthly discount if you pay for at least one month. In my case I got just above 1k pounds for the full month, which is roughly in the region of what I would have paid in rent and utilities for a month (approx 750 rent + 250 utilities and assuming no council tax) had I already had a tenancy for a 2/3 bed flat. I'm expecting that the extra 2 weeks should be sufficient for one to get , inspect and make any possible amendments to any property one wants to rent (you might see a property you like or at a good price, and have to buy in some things such as white goods yourself, etc.). Check and see if this will work for you

Hello everyone... I am giving my testimony I said it that on it before Wednesday I would get my visa and I did

I was on my way to just give it a try if I would hear o anything from TLS when my mum called me that my application had changed to transferred to VAC. I got there and they said I should wait for a while that it hasn’t gotten to them an hour plus later I got my email and I went back to pick it up lo and behold my visa came through after days of sleepless night prayers and fasting...

Biometrics 2nd of September
Non straightforward email 19th of September
Transferred to VAC 29th and decision email
Visa approved

Don’t give up on God he will surely do it, I thought That was the end for me when I didn’t get my visa decision on the 23rd which was my complete 15th day But God just wanted to let me know DELAY IS NOT DENIAL

I PRAY EVERYONE EXPECTING VISA GET IT SOON
Congratulations

Hi everyone.

I finally got my passport/visa.

Sept 5: Applied for visa (via priority service)
Sept 8: Went for biometrics (TLS Abuja)
Sept 11: Got a decision mail
Sept 29: Application transferred to VAC, received by VAC...and I picked it up

On the document that came with the passport, visa had been issued since Sept. 9th. Apparently, it got stuck somewhere and someone forgot to send it to the VAC. Two things that I did that I think prompted them to remember to send the passport back (in my own opinion):
1. Requested for an escalation/reminder to be sent to UKVI Pretoria via phone call yesterday
2. Sent an email to the commonwealth scholarship commission who immediately sent an email to UKVI asking them to send the passport since decision had been made more than 2 weeks prior (I'm a commonwealth scholar).

Next step is to push for a refund of my priority service fees. I hope I get it back.

Lessons I learnt...
1. Call for help as soon as you can once you realize that there's something wrong. Leaving things to chance might not always work out. I can imagine if I kept on waiting and did not talk to anyone. Maybe they'll send it on time, maybe they won't. We'll never know.

2. Learnt better how to be patient and manage such frustrating circumstances as this.

For those in my shoes who have gotten a decision email and haven't gotten their passport back more than 5 working days after (esp. priority applicants), it's better to escalate the issue and request for a reminder to be sent to UKVI ASAP. They seem to be under a lot of pressure as this is peak period plus the COVID situation has made system inefficiencies to be more obvious.

Many thanks to all who responded to my questions and complaints on here. For those waiting, may you all get your visas within the shortest time possible.
Congratulations
