Haiti’s First King And President, King Henri Was From An Igbo Descent by BuchiPrinzy: 9:49am On Sep 30, 2020 |
Henri I, whose name was Henri Christophe, was born on the 6th of October 1767. King Henri was a free-born but was sold off as a teen. He was believed to be of Igbo descent in West Africa and a former slave of Bambara ethnicity. Henri Christophe arrived Haiti – a French colony, formerly known as Saint Domingue, where he worked as a slave, engaging in numerous jobs like making billiards, bricklayer, he was also a sailor, and equally a bartender. Henri worked so hard that he had to join the few Black slaves that bought their freedom. He was also skilled in the military field, considering that he was among those selected by the French to fight at the Siege of Savannah (State of Georgia) in 1780. An account reported that he worked as a bartender at Couronne and later married his master’s daughter. However, another statement contradicted that Henri married a French naval officer’s daughter after paying off for his freedom. ThreeEyedRaven:Can you bear the pain of your Caribbean wife introducing her boyfriend to you and informing you that she is going to the night party with him and would eventually retire to his house after the party with him? Think bro and smell your coffee! 1 Like |

ThatFairGuy1: Heyyy good to have you back ol' friend, were you banned or deactivated and came back? Ok now to your comments. I said what I said because they're exposed, beautiful, honest and intelligent. And that's all I need in a woman unlike most some of our local that only good at deceit. It's far from any complex (inferiority or superiority) man |

BuchiPrinzy:It's true,I'm aware of this. Igbo civilization and intelligence is way before Nigeria. Henri Christophe is of Igbo descent and a source says he improved the infrastructure of Haiti when he was elected president, with notable palaces, souci palace for example...He was also the military leader of the Haitian slave revolution against the French colonists.... 3 Likes 1 Share |
