Quiet a lot of people have one misconception about death. They believe that life ends here on earth. So, the dead man is gone forever. It is not true. Rather, death is the gateway to reality. The life after death is even more real than the life on earth. There are infallible proofs to support this assertion in the Scripture.

First, you should know that man was created in the image and likewise of God. We are spirit beings. It is the spirit that gives life to our mortal bodies. Hence, James wrote,

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (James 2:26).

So, when a man die, his spirit just leaves his body. He still lives on but can't make contact with this physical world. His soul either goes to hell or his spirit goes to heaven.

If people understand this simple truth, they will not commit suicide. Because, most of them will end up in hell and meet a worse condition that they are trying to avoid.

If the dead are gone forever, why did Jesus made reference to Abraham that he is still living. He said;

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. (John 8:56).

In addition he said,

Matthew 22:31-32.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

The problem is you cannot prove that there's a reality that is more real than this reality.

Death is an illusion. We are Gods or spiritual beings dwelling within a physical body fashioned from the dust of the earth.. This body is just a vessel or abode for God's spirit...

The spirit returns to God who gave it and the body back to the earth where it was taken.. More like back to default settings...

"send forth your spirit and they are created and replenish the earth, take it and they die and return back to earth... Psalm 104:29-31

Why would God send his spirit to hell?.. What is the wisdom behind that??

God doesn't send you to hell, your decision does.

Hell was originally prepared for the devil and his angels who rebelled against God because they don't have redemption.

But because the first man transgressed God's word and came under the dominion of Satan, they are bound to the same destination by the law of binding precedent.

So, we were all doomed for hell until Jesus came to pay for the sins of mankind.

So, those who believe in the finished work of Christ can make a u turn and head for heaven instead.

Those who don't believe will continue in the same direction of hell. So, the choice is yours.

Human being are made up of spirit from god and body from the earth..which one is going to hell?

Let us make man in our own image after our likeness....so God formed man from the dust of the earth.and breathered through his nostrils and man became a living soul..

So is it gods breath that is going to hell or dust from the earth?.

Your spirit is more than a breath. It is the real you. Your body looks like your spirit. We can call it identical twins. Your spirit can be out of your body and you will still look complete and even see your lifeless body. The only difference is that you can't make contact with the physical world with your spirit.

When a man dies, his spirit or soul lives the body in complete form as his body. His soul goes to hell if he is not born again.

During the judgment, he will be resurrected with his body to face the final judgment. After judgment, his body and soul will be cast into the Lake of fire.

The man is the soul..at death the spirit goes to the person who gave it ..ie God and the body back to the earth..so which one goes to hell? The spirit is god spirit and the body is dust from the earth...

So explain again..

OP, you are not correct in your assertion as indeed, death can and still is a ceasation of existence for the vast majority as God commanded from after the fall of man.

1 John 4 vs 1-7 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
17. Then God said to the man, “I commanded you not to eat from that tree. But you listened to your wife and ate from it. So I will curse the ground because of you. You will have to work hard all your life for the food the ground produces.
18. The ground will grow thorns and weeds for you. And you will have to eat the plants that grow wild in the fields.
[b] 19.
You will work hard for your food, until your face is covered with sweat. You will work hard until the day you die, and then you will become dust again. I used dust to make you, and when you die, you will become dust again.”
20. Adam[c] named his wife Eve.[d] He gave her this name because Eve would be the mother of everyone who ever lived.
21. The Lord God used animal skins and made some clothes for the man and his wife. Then he put the clothes on them.
22. The Lord God said, “Look, the man has become like us—he knows about good and evil. And now the man might take the fruit from the tree of life. If the man eats that fruit, he will live forever.”
God Himself decreed that at the end of man's life, he man, will return to the dust from whence he was made. Now, someone may assert that God changed His mind along the way, about this but that is not entirely true for you see, even with the Old Covenant promising Canaan for ever to the descendants of Israel, God still submitted that those who sin must die. In Ezekiel 18, God repeats Himself re-asserting that indeed the soul that sins must die.

With the New Covenant, Jesus Christ was introduced as the Way(To God), the Truth(of God) and the Life(Eternal of God) for all those who seek to come to God. Jesus Christ never did away with the rule God had set in place from the beginning. In fact, He made it clear that only those who accept Him will have eternal life. Those who do not accept Him(the unbelievers) will simply perish(die or cease to exist upon death) as God has previously stipulated.

So who goes to the hell described by Jesus Christ? Well, according to Jesus Christ Himself, it is those who accept Him but refuse to obey Him that end up in Hell. If acceptance means one gets "Eternal life" tacked on to one's soul, then it follows that only those who are eternal can 'burn forever in hell' as many life to say, and so, yes, only those who believe but do not obey end up in hell. Those who do not believe in Jesus Christ at all, do not have eternal life and hence their life ends when their clock runs out on earth.

Those who reject the gospel will burn for eternity. It is not the same as eternal life. The Scripture is very clear on it with several references some of which I will quote below to refresh our minds;

Mat 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into EVERLASTING FIRE.

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT: but the righteous into life eternal.

Mar 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of ETERNAL DAMNATION

Mark 9:45-46
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, INTO THE FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED.

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.

Notice the phrase EVERLASTING FIRE, ETERNAL DAMNATION, FIRE THAT IS NOT QUENCHED etc.

Check out the dictionary meaning of the word everlasting. It means;

Lasting or enduring forever; existing or continuing without end. Synonyms: immortal, eternal.

Even the torment of the future anti Christ was foretold in the person of the first beast of Revelation, chapter 13. The false prophet torment was also foretold.

After Christ comes back, he defeats them and they are cast into the Lake of fire.

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

By your definition of death, this should end their existence and they should never be seen again.

After that incidence, Satan was bound for 1,000 years and Jesus established his 1,000 years reign on earth.

Revelation 20:7-10.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, WHERE THE BEAST AND THE FALSE PROPHET ARE, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Verse 10 of chapter 20 is of interest. It reveals that the beast and the false prophet who were thrown in before Christ began his reign are still acknowledged to be there. They didn't disappear into oblivion.

if you don't believe all these evidences of the Scripture, then you are grossly dishonest and have taken a decision not to believe God's word but a doctrine established by man.

Matthew 25 vs 41 - 46 clearly tells you that is it those who do not OBEY the commandments of Jesus Christ -- those who accept Him but refuse to obey Him that end up in everlasting punishment as prescribed for all those believe(have eternal life) but do not obey.

I suggest you go back to read the previous post before you respond so you get a better understanding of what I said vs what you purport here. Yes, there is indeed everlasting torment but it is only for those who believe but refuse to obey. If you do not understand, ask questions.

The human soul was not immortal from the beginning. Remember, Adam did not eat the fruit of the Tree of Life so he, Adam, died, just as God said He would. And it has been so for those who came after Him, who did not believe in God. When Jesus Christ came, He came to offer men ever lasting life and only those who accept Him will have it. All those who do not, simply perish just as those before, and during Jesus Christ's time on earth have had to.
Those who accept Jesus Christ though are expected to, even with the eternal life now tacked on to their soul, obey Jesus Christ, or else end up in Hell's Fire, according to Jesus Christ Himself. Several of the parables that Jesus Christ spoke to the people explain this to all those who will obey Him.

You clearly reject the Trutth that is Jesus Christ in your continued assumption that all will end up in hell, a belief that is contrary to the very teachings of Jesus Christ Himself.

I hate to disappoint you but I cannot end in Hell since I know the truth of Jesus Christ and live in obedience to it. I ask you though that since you claim to be of Jesus Christ yet you continue to live in disobedience, choosing instead to teach lies in His name, do you really think you are of Him? undecided
