why is my android system consuming so much power? As you can see in the screenshot, the power consumption is more than that of the screen which is very unusual.

For most android phones, screen is usually the highest power consumer. For example my Samsung android system consumes like 9% while screen takes about 20% after 7hrs or more of usage.

I also noticed that after charging to 100, the stats doesn't reset like all other android phones out there.

Guys what could be wrong? I have tweaked virtually every power saving settings yet android system keeps consuming more than screen.

My device is Redmi 9A running MIUI 12

1. Android System usually goes up mostly on Idle mode. Then your theme and font can also cause it to rise on normal usage. When it gets high, just force restart it severally and use normally for a while then recharge.

2. For it not resetting it is usually caused by bad charging habits. Cultivate a good charging culture to elongate your battery life.

don't even try the MIUI 12 for now, it drains battery like mad and the battery usage statistics is trash. Memory management issues still persist also.

I make use of the classic theme. Also I have not touch the font since I bought it so it is on default. in idle mode I believe power consumption should be minimal in all aspect unless if some apps are working in background and I have restricted most apps.

I don't charge frequently and I don't use the phone while charging. I charge once per day and I usually let the battery go down below 20% before charging.

So what's a good charging habit?

Your complaints have been lodged with our support team and we would be reaching out to you sir. Apologies
Typical response our Nigerian politicians will give, I'm not surprised some shady business men don dey adapt the strategy.

The way you use and charge is okay. If there is a security app update available do it.

Alright, so what do you think I should do to reduce android system power consumption?

Android usage shows up when your phone is compiling apps for necessary optimizations while idle. Heavy/Background process also causes that. The issue occurs across different OEMs and Android based ROMs.

When you notice it high like that, plug it in to charge.

Hello house and happy 60th Anniversary to us all.

I posted few hrs ago about the service I received from Repairpalng. He did call me this afternoon, apologised for the experience/inconveniences and explained the delivery to the park was via dispatch rider, hence, the ish.

He noted he's learnt from this and promised a better service to all, will retrain his handlers in prompt and efficient communication, and resolution of concerns of his clients.

I wish us all the best of this life/country.

You could switch to huawei phone like p40 smiley. HMS doesn't have the same problem is what I've heard.
This is assuming it is really really really driving you nuts.

Otherwise, no need to check battery consumption incessantly. If you get enough power to last the day, Google can do whatever it likes in the background

I was about to ask if you've reached a resolution with him.

Even with this, I still won't patronise or advice anyone to patronise him.

I believe he had no choice to call you to reach a resolution if not for your popularity here.

About two members here went through his poor services, complained here and he never did anything about their complaints.

I will advice you stick with your current miui for now. miui 12 is a battery drainer and the power consumption statistics is full of errors with plenty other bugs.

It is currently frustrating me on my redmi9a. There are too many complains from users of miui 12. I just hope they fix it quickly.
Na wa oh, why is Xiaomi making latest Miui bulgy na. But i blive they will fix this problems with updates, is your Redmi 9a 2gb ram?

Truly it could be a Google thing. Most especially Play Services. Some forums opine that it's coming from Play Services not being as it should be.

They are both Hybrid just that the trays are different. RN7 has the ejector outside the tray. RN5 has it's ejector hole in the tray.

I'm sure they're not making their own software buggy. Apple experiences it, so do others.
It's probably worse for android oems cos they have to take care of so many devices.

Exactly, he only did because of jboixxx popularity and for the fact that many called him out... Anyone here on this thread for the past 2years knows clearly that the guy lacks business manners.

I have never done business with him and i will never recommend him.
