It is on merit, and I am happy for the boy. A very big congrats to you Ayo Saka, I wish you all the best. I pray you get cap tied this month, to put the unnecessary tug of war to rest, so that you can fully focus on your career

THE NEW CELESTINE BABAYARO (GODFEY BITOCK STEPHEN)

Godfrey Bitock is another rising talent within the Universe of Nigerian football.
Though in an obscure league, his case could be like that of Tolu Arokodare.
I was surprised when i saw his report on totalfootballanalysis which is a well respected website.
He is a left back playing in Belarus and was part of the Olympics team.
This is his scout report

https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/godrey-bitok-stephen-nigerian-star-in-the-making-in-minsk-tactical-analysis-tactics

n the pitch, there have been some standout young players in the Belarus Premier League. One of these players was a young Nigerian left-back by the name of Godfrey Bitok Stephen. The tall 19-year-old has impressed many with his performances for the Wolves this season as a marauding left-wing back. Standing at 183cm, comfortable on the ball and possessing plenty of confidence, Stephen looks a really exciting prospect that may well have gone under the radar were it not for the sudden loss of major European football.

It's actually a thirty man squad which will still be cut down to 23, seems like a long shot but going by his Twitter comment of being honoured to play for England, the dude is gone and personally I wouldn't want any mercenary in the super eagles.

Cry not. We won't get them all. If he honors it and debuts for them, well, I wish him the best. He is a fine lad with a very high ceiling.

But when I remember we have another rising quality player in Chidera Ejuke also on the left then I just smile and say, "We move". wink

Oliver Oliver Oliver.....

I told ya.

We move! The next person to follow is Eze.

don't ask me unnecessary question but yes I'm proud of Nigeria. Your focus shouldnt be on what Nigeria can do for you but what you can do for the country. I really don't care about those foreign born to be honest it is their career and they have right to choose, so I don't really care about em. As for me, my kid must (the key word is "must"wink represent Naija in football even if he turn out better than messi or Ronaldo. Those foreign born with edo root tend to play for Naija more than the rest because the edo parents know exactly how to influence the decision of their kids except they really don't want their kid to represent Naija. Take a look at ebuehi, osazee, Bazee, and now akpoguma (although he denied us at first but still switch to Naija). Eze is still there waiting for england call up that may or may not see the light of the day except he wanna go to the way of Tomori. 4min of international football... Puff. It is over.

Even those German guys turned down Nigeria earlier in their careers, as much as they are talented players I just hope they will be 100 percent committed to the national team. I wouldn't want a victor moses or kevin prince boateng kind of situation to occur in the national team.

Happy belated birthday to you Sir Icon4s and to myself also.

Saka has finally made his choice, no ill or hard feelings.

We move on...

we win some, we loose some.

For some reasons, I have been monitoring this thread on ghost mode.

I must confess that some people here are sentimental, bias ,tribalist etc with their analyses.

One thing we must not forget is that ,this thread is followed by top goons of the NFF,footballers, coaches, sport administrators and foreign football enthusiasts.

Let's be objective and unbiased with our reportage.

One love

Happy 60th independence anniversary to everyone.

True talk man. Its painful to note that Saka has chosen to play for England but the fact that we have a similar personnel even more skilful and faster in the mould of Ejuke in our possession is really consoling.

All round Ejuke might not be as good as Saka but the gap between them, I'm sure isn't much. And to acknowledge that the former offers more pace and trickery is a thing to be glad of.

tomori situation is heart breaking Tammy also is the third choice CF of England we all know he won't start in the SE ATleast he will be a good backup I had high hopes that saka might turn out different but am wrong ....
one of the reason why I hate the three lion and southgate is because they cap tie this Nigerians because that they don't want them to play for SE we all know that don't need tomori why cap tie him?? Alaba was cap tie by Austria now he is an important member of the squad also Swiss cap tie both akanji and Noah okafor akanji is one of their important player
while Noah hopefully once he breaks in to Salzburg team he will prolly be in the team but England case has been different since the days of agbonlahor and fashanu, tomori I pray saka won't follow the suit has it been say England nah Germany they for don cap torun, apkoguma and Felix.

This is what happens when you have modernized football infrastructure and a well developed league. You worry less about jumping through the hoops of backwater leagues and instead, get the attention of big clubs.
did Pulisic play in American league? Was it not his father taking him from Dortmund to Barcelona, to secure him a football contract?

I bet most of these players were in European academies, and did not necessarily come directly from the MLS, so, wetin concern league infrastructure for this one?

Wetin you go talk be say, it's good to have a useful passport that you won't need to secure visa for most countries. No be useless Nigerian passport that cannot take you anywhere. If person papa wan help him life now, from Nigeria, you know how much he will save to get visa an flight ticket? Make we no even talk of the purchasing power of the miserable Naira.

Why are some of you lamneting over these players?

If dem cap tie Tomori, cap tie Tammy, come cap tie Saka, how e take concern us? No be their career?

Make dem collect their three-five caps, then wait to retire and hopefully, do sports commentary like Efan Ekoku, or PL Analyst. We know they cannot coach any English team sha, so, those are their only two options.

Na dem get career, na dem sabi. Make dem enjoy, it's even somehow, to start leaving England you have known all your life, to travel down to Nigeria for matches. Wetin dem go tell all their English paddies?
