The fact is that at this point, Ole neither guarantees attractive football nor trophies. We enter each game with uncertainty, not knowing if we are going to win or not. Even the Lampard that was used to compare at least played a final last season. I'm not saying that Lampard is better though.
Ole is a good coach with vision but he's not a top coach. His taktiks are questionable and the problem is translating his vision on the pitch. A top team playing good football will always win trophies. That's the fact.
Go tell that to Pochettino and Mourinho

Ended 2-2 against an older team.

Elanga was dangerous throughout, Mejbri was good in the 2nd half but 2 interesting prospects are the 2 CBs Fish and Bernard.

Boss Mejbri was not good. He was untidy with his passes and looked out of place playing in a double pivot.

Elanga is the boy to watch at the moment, he is extremely fast. There was one time he made the fullback look like he was running is slow motion. Some decision making improvement and strengthening would help Elanga a lot.

I hope they don't relegate this season. The team is very young and a lot of them other teams have got quite a lot of players over 19.

In the first half, he made a Van Dijk like tackle, got the ball with the ease and left the attacker helpless on the floor.

I agree with you that Mejbri was poor in the first half but he improved in the 2nd half. The problem Mejbri is facing presently facing is two-fold. Firstly teams tend to kick him a lot and the refs at that level are not protecting him enough. Secondly opponents know he is the most creative player in our midfield so they often press him with 2,3,4 players. He actually played quite well over the last 30 minutes. He looks like the sort that will thrive well in senior football. especially with better players around him.

Elanga is crazy fast and he is quite powerful as well. I agree with you that with improvement in decision making and finishing he will be ready. Hopefully by next season.

The team is quite young and is not a complete team. They don't have enough attacking players of the right age as well, in particular there is no RW. Most of the good players are between 16 and 18 playing against 23yr olds. The Blackburn player who scored their second goal was 23 and a 21yr old player was subbed on for them as well.

Bernard and Fish look good together but i don't think there is a future for Bernard in the club because Mengi who is his junior has moved on to the senior team and Fish who is Mengi's junior seems to have been made captain.

P.S Harvey Neville is in that team just because of quota system/ man know man.

My plan isn't to draw this into a back and forth that can get a book deal. I know your kind and as time would have it, Ole now has an appointment with your impressive Nagelsmann. Time sits and presides as judge over all inferences. I won't speak any further on the comparison.
patrickmuf:
Pep has proven to be successful with top teams so he stands out.

Ole on the other hand struggled with Cardiff and is still struggling to return Manchester United to the top. What's left is for him to try midtable to see if he can cut it at that level or quit if he fails.

Nagelsmann is already a success with Hoeffenheim, the top beckons.

Now, if you must draw inferences, you'd say Pep will not win the league with Tottenham but he will have them playing one of the best football and qualifying for the UCL constantly whilst winning one or two cup in between.

As for Nagelsmann, you look at what he has done with the resources at his disposal and you'd think he would be better off with a more quality squad.

As for Ole, when you see how Manchester United play with the caliber of players we have, you'd be very generous to score him slightly above average. If Ole leaves United today, do you see any top team looking for his services?

Fish and Mengi were very good together at Under-18 level. I liked that combo because they both played with physicality. Bernard is slightly older than them and more stylish on the ball but he was prone to the odd error now and then.

His occasional errors plus the fact that he joined the club relatively late mean that he has to work much harder than both Mengi and Fish if he wants to make it here.

You say this because Ole is the coach of Manchester United and not Leipzig...If the tables turned, you won't even give Leipzig a chance because you know Ole is an average coach...

LOL. What i like about his game is his maturity. The first time i saw him for the Under 18s he was 15 and was playing alongside Mengi and he played like a much older player.

He is decent and is taller than Mengi even though he doesn't have Mengi's athleticism and speed reserve.

Solid inputs as always!

Bernard is looking like them typical youngsters that got into academy football mainly as a result of early physical progression. I hope he is able to have a career with a lower EPL or a Championship team in the future.

Harvey Neville and Ercollani are very poor, especially Ercollani, It is painful watching Ercollani play.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 7:15pm On Oct 02, 2020
Man, at this point shut up. Do not speak for me. Do not presume you know what i am thinking. Just wait for the appointment. You don't have to wait for too long too. We don't have to turn the table. We only have to see how strong the other table is. cheesy : grin

Hehehe. When i saw Ercolani i almost fainted. What is that old man still doing here? It can't even be good for his football development to still be here.

Consider that he is being benched and shifted to playing fullback because of a player like Fish who was at least 2 sets behind him.

Trophies Pochettino didn't win but he played good football.
Good football Jose doesn't play but he wins trophies, which means your earlier post is trash

Let's keep it civil bro. We are allowed to have contrasting opinions.

Like I said earlier, "a top team" playing good football will always win trophies. Pochettino with his limited resources at Tottenham was able to get them to champions league finals while playing attractive football. You've got to give him credit for that.
Mourinho doesn't fit into the discuss because I'm talking about winning with attractive football. I didn't say u cannot win without it.

Maybe it's Glaziers and Ed's decision to sell Smalling and leaving Jones, Rojo in the team. Is Smalling that bad that OGS doesn't even want to give him a chance? Can we now agree (atleast on the basis of this Smalling saga) that OGS is indeed very clueless? Who is a better CB btw Smalling and Lindelof?
