I was addressing useful idiots. Did you quote me because you are a useful idiot?

Some of them who have sense must have had some savings. So, they are definitely big boys.

It's only those who don't understand the importance of saving that will go broke.

By and large, they should be able to set up a business or return to another oil company with their rich portfolio and connection
it sounds easy when it is spoken but not the reality. Are you forgetting that these guys have a standard of living. They drive select cars, live in select houses and have so many select services. The savings won’t last more than a year believe me. For many, they might fail at business as it’s the first time trying to run one. Most First time business owners fail at it. The oil industry is very unattractive, starting a company to service the industry now might be a wrong investment. The connection you mentioned are also looking for opportunities to stay relevant. I was in this situation 4 years ago, thank God I have come out stronger. I pray the affected workers find a way to pull through and weather this situation.

Tactical ploy! A wise person said dangote refinery would start operations by 2022. So the game plan is that all this major oil companies pull out of Nigeria. Dangote will take over grin..

Sorry I'm drunk

This move is in reaction to the effects of the pandemic, it has nothing to do with Dangote.

Chevron and Dangote are not direct competitors, Chevron operates in the upstream sector (extraction of crude oil in Nigeria) while Dangote will be involved in the downstream sector (refining of crude oil)

What is this one even saying? Just hear urself. How do the two even relate? Chevron Nigeria is into upstream business (crude oil exploration and production) Dangote Refinery is at the verge of venturing into downstream ( Refining of Crude). Indeed u must be really high on Oshogbo weed undecided

Re: Chevron Nigeria To Sack 25% Of Workforce by K4daniel: 9:42pm On Oct 02, 2020
My own concern is why would CBN reduced interest rate which is making alot of issues here, most companies losing and sacking their staff.

If only the govt and CBN could change that policy, things would be back and stable. I don't know their intentions and economic policy but that policy has put us in shambles. Not a good one at this corona virus time

Many companies have closed up and done with Nigeria. Just because we lack WISDOM to manage our economy.

May God bless Nigeria.

Lol grin cheesy

You better find the strength o! Cos me I am in a troublesome mood tonight.

I got an oil and gas job but didn't like it one bit, like you, I wanted a job in that industry so bad, but after getting it, it sort of drove me crazy. Be careful what you wish for, quickly came to mind at that point.

The pay was good but having to deal with the industry players/regulators like Napims, NCDMB, DPR, IOCs etc during tenders/major project bids took a massive toll.

It's a corrupt minefield, step on the wrong toes and you could be paying for it, for a long time and in very expensive ways, to remedy that one misstep of yours
true. I also got to know ogboni dey in play for these oil companies. In order for you to grow, you have to belong.
