Nice.

The one I don't understand is:

Almighty God..... You will never share your Glory with anybody

I was like, wtf, why are we serving him if he is not to share His Glory with us?
But that line is from the Bible. Check isaiah 42 vs 8.

pek:
You alone are worthy lord.....
When success trouble comes my way, I will praise your name.

This version makes more sense to me and I have it this way until very recently.

Sometimes, I still slip to 'when trouble comes my way'.

Everyone praises God when success comes their way.

"I've heard...Blesses be the Lord" "Blessed be the rock and so on" grin grin

We do:

The Lord reigneth

Blessed be the Lord

Let the rock of my salvation be exalted..

You are high and lifted up
There is no one like you

First line is taken from Isaiah 6:1
NOT

You are highly lifted up

I was very guilty of the no 2 . I knew something was not right with the singing because the wrong version didn't really sound meaningful to me but there was nothing I could do.
Thanks .

As a Christians while growing up we were accustomed to a lot of Christian songs.

There are songs you must have been singing throughout your younger years only for you to be informed that you've been singing the wrong words all along.

Often times we hear wrongly the words to some of our favourite songs and at other times we repeat the lyrics we’ve heard from others and continue singing the wrong lyrics for ages.

The following are the top songs on my list :

1. We go hey, hey your name debade all the way:
This is one of the gospel songs that people have invented their own version. The appropriate words are "We go dey hail, hail your name, day by day all the way".

2.. The most Excellency is Jesus :
This is a very popular Nigerian song sang mostly by Christians. However, unknown to them, they have been singing it wrongly.

The original lyrics is, ' the most excellent king is Jesus '.

3. Osingo singo, praise the Lord:
Someone must have invented this sweeter version which sounds ‘better’ than the original one. The person must have thought the original version was boring and as such decided to give it a nice touch.

The right thing is, ' O sing my soul and praise the Lord' .

4. With thanksgiving, as we are living, sanctuary, for you :
This is another song that people have invented their own version. The correct version is, ‘ With thanksgiving, I'll be a living, sanctuary, for you' .

This is by no way Exhaustive, pls add yours.

Nice.

The one I don't understand is:

Almighty God..... You will never share your Glory with anybody

I was like, wtf, why are we serving him if he is not to share His Glory with us?

Context my brother... The context are different.

Check this: Isaiah 42:8
I am the Lord; that is my name;
my glory I give to no other,
nor my praise to carved idols.

Then this...
John 17:22
And the glory which You gave
Me I have given them,
that they may be one just as
We are one

So, it's different context. The song can be translated as ONLY you is worthy of receiving thanksgiving. No gods or flesh could have done this.

lol you misinterpreted it.it means he doesn't like to share the credit belongs to him with others. Like when God saves you from accident instead of glorifying Him you are now glorifying the chief priest

They are just party songs. It does not reach down to the soul.

Turn me around Jehovah..turn me around Jehovah..eleh..elehi Lele .

Am asking wetin be this. It's a far cry from "then sing my soul".

But one of this most poorly sang song with no meditation behind it is "everything written about you is great"

It took a man of God. one very hated by the majority to correct it. And it's was simple almost too simple correction.

He said it should have been..."Everything about you"..

"Everything written" limited God to what is in prints or known.

But simply "everything about you" include known and possibly unknown.
while I don't agree with the bolded it might also mean everything one drunk goro-chewing nigga wrote about God is great. So really that line dey one kind one kind
