My reason is, I dont think a new company would start a brand seeing that the domain name is taken and been listed for a huge pricetag and go ahead to buy that name if not that there is already a relationship with that name.

Added to this, Abdulbasit has about 4 thousand quality domain names and one of his friends has 25 thousand. And he says he doesn't believe in registering new domain, he registers only one new domain per year and sometimes he doesn't bother at all. He only buys aged domain that he believes customers would come knocking sooner or later.

There's no way you have such numbers and quality without making a substantial sale every month. It's not rocket science.

A lot of people and blue chip companies believe in branding as a strong marketing tool. Come to think of it, why do majority of companies out there make use of special numbers for customer services? It pays in the long run.

Why won't he do the same thing? AbdulBasit has two heads. I read AbdulBasit blog from the beginning, the day he started domaining seriously from 2010 even though his father introduced him to domaining 2004. The guy keeps buying quality from 50 - 100 - 200 - 500 - 1000 - 2000 and over 4000 domains today due to his consistency and goals. Even though this thread started 2016, Some of us in this thread are 10 years in domaining but believe they're just ok with what they are making. If you wanna be like Abdulbasit, start dreaming and start working like him.

I don't really like writing much words. Last month has taught me a lot.

I had some names expiring this month (about 14 GEOs), so I decided to reduce price and follow up again. Sold 2 during first follow up. Sold another 2 during second follow up still with reduced price. So 4 sales out of the 14 GEOs. I can use one sale to renew them all.

Also I bought a name last month, (highest sale in the list), did outbound the following day. Got 5 interested buyers. One went to buy the singular version probably because of my price. Another person called me and asked if it a scam. I cleared his doubt by pushing the domain to his dynadot account before he paid me. He was very happy.

The lessons;

1. Always follow up till the die minute.

2. For a quick flip especially those with large portfolio, put a reasonable price.

3. Check if the singular or plural version of your name is available. Act professionally if interest are flowing for the domain.

4. Call a buyer if he/she request for it ( I can help with that for a fee).

5. Dan doesn't have problems. I totally love them now.

You can still re-apply with the same site and get approved. But before you do so, make sure you have some buying keyswords ranking on the first page of google. This will help you to make sales and get approved into their affiliate program faster. That is what I did and my site was approved faster. I hope this helps
