Las las, i realised that going to those crowdy lectures was mostly counter productive. I used to sleep jejely in the hostel, then catch up with the notes later.

Mine, I was so irritated by the crowd of freshers making noise up and down, some were sounding like they know everything, some don't care about anything, some were just pressing their phones, while some were speaking English up and down. As a warri boy wey i be i just compot and soji myself make person nor go mis yan with me, make i nor go wear person slap, 2 seconds i just see one fine smally just enter my sit Sidon near me, the warri in me vanish, Romeo and Shakespear enter my body immediately, we chatted for a little while before the weak lecturer enter the hall, I collected her control later, the rest is history.

On my first day we had GST101 at about 8AM. I woke up around 4AM, prepared and got to school 6AM.

I initially thought I would be the first to get there but I was surprised by the numbers of students that were already seated. After taking my seat a certain man from the street whom everyone of us taught was a lecturer, came to sell his books titled "English and Englishes."

After successfully convincing us that one could be sent out of the university for not passing English, everybody in the hall bought the book with fear.
I bought the book with the last card I had on my wallet thinking it was my textbook for the semester. Little did I know that the man is well known for scamming freshers. He smiled cheerfully, counted and made away with thousands of naira under the watchful eyes of everyone in the hall.

The useless book was less than 15 pages containing trash upon trash. I had to throw it in the nearest trash can.

I dont want to curse the man!

Mine was quite hilarious , I had always despise calculations so much since my secondary school days which made me to opt for the course I studied (not knowing the course also deals with calculations in a quite elaborious manner ).


Got to my department for the first time, went to our secretary office and introduced myself as a new student, he welcomed me and told me to go and copy the time table at the notice board outside.
Got to the notice board, not knowing how course codes work, I copied everything from first year to almost final year till a student in his penultimate class (he later u became the departmental president) saw me and asked me if I am a new student, I answered in affirmative, he directed me to a class that my mates are already having a lecture, I was tensed and didn't know how to proceed.

Mustered courage and excused myself into the class, lo and behold, my first lecture was Statistics (another calculations). In my mind, I was like I don fail be this ooo! the whole process was just like an exorcism session. I was just there staring at the board looking at how the lecturer was just doing her stuff. Before she ended her lecture, she looked at us, seeing that the whole process looks confusing to us, she made herself open to us, telling us to feel relaxed, admonished us and told us to always approach her when we find any challenges.

Immediately after the lecture, I went to her, instead of telling her my fear, I told her that I am stranded , because I was petrified (stranded maybe in calculation xanadu). She looked at me coded my message, talked to me like a friend and told me that I shouldn't be scared that I will make it well.



After that semester results came out and lo and behold, your boy made an A in that course, thanks to that lecturer and a special thanks to my best friend (Wisdom), who made the whole calculation process look and feel so easy, and made me fall in love with calculation.

On the other hand, the course that I was expecting and enphantic A in, failed me woefully. It was like a mirage how I failed that course but the good thing is that when I went for its resit, I didn't just make an A but also made the best result in the sequential course of that same course.

This is almost like my case. Never liked any form of calculation. But the first class i attended was Business Maths, I almost bought another Jamb form. But my friend Ernest encouraged me and together we pulled through successfully.

Mine was 200level i was direct entry and resumed very late....exam was only 1 month away imagine....i found the lecture hall for my 1st lecture very late but lecturer had not arrived...I entered hall omo see silence as everybody was looking at me, as a shy person i just put eye dey give floor eye contact and walked to a free seat, did not even talk to anyone..then one girl left her sit in front and came and sat beside me and introduced herself ...after i noticed all the smart people those are all the guys i glued myself with as usual and even though i had 3 months of work to catch up on and only 1 month to prepare for exami still managed to make 4.2 that semester...i thank God...i hated that school tho lol

The hall was sha almost filled, only back seat rows were empty. My shy self was even kuku happy. I found a nice, whole empty row and went to sit in the middle so nobody will find a reason to talk to me.
That's how this Caleb guy sitting in front of me started turning his head to strike a conversation with me haaaaa! I was so shy and tense that I couldn't even look at him, even for my lips to move and respond to him was problem.
When I now finally managed to mouth some words, I told oga to face his front and concentrate on the lectures

That day I was in school before 6am despite the fact that the lecture will start by 7:am

That day, I made sure I answered some few questions which made me known to the lecturer
It was like a competition between I and one of deputy governor in which it was just both of us that we're answering almost all the questions in the class and from that day we became the lecturer favorite that every time we have him, he'll always ask us questions...

My first was fun. I was happy receiving my first lecture in the university but what happened after made it more fun. A guy called me asking me to give me the money on me or he had gun me down. I candidly told him to do so as I no want come that university sef as it was my second choice. Though I had a senior brother then who had told me to show no fear as freshers are victims of extortion and intimidation by must returning students.

my 1st was CHM101 come see crowd for 1000seater lecture theatre the place don full b4 6am. people sef dey stand for front!

The class was around 12pm. Got there 11:45 class don full. I was shooked. Sat in class for 2 hours I was frustrated. Too much noise and too many people.

My name came out on the last admission list so they were already weeks ahead of me.

My first day in class: I was shuffling between the registration center and class.

I was really a very shy person, finally located the class midway lecture.
You know those kind of silence when you can hear if a needle drops ,I peeped through the window .

See crowd! . It was a faculty course so more than 3 departments were in the hall .I prayed in my mind while walking in ... Nobody at the front seats wanted to shift for me .

The lecturer ( with microphone on) said "you people think you're still in your village secondary schools,you'll suffer ehhhn , imagine coming to class when the lecturer is almost rounding up ,this is UNIPORT ,go and ask about me ".



I was so embarrassed ,with over a thousand eyes staring at me.

I had to move/sneak from table to table before someone finally shifted a bit for me to sit.
She became my best friend in school.

Fortunately she was in my department and stayed at the hostel I was given so she made it really easy for me to catch up.

It made me go to classes very early ...it's either I was waiting for the lecturer to arrive or I was coming in with many other students. .

That particular lecturer became my Mentor and monitor because he's from my village and knows my dad .

My first day was my breakthrough day because it actually set the pace for me. A Professor of Guidance and Counseling walked in and asked me "What are the three areas of human learning?". I told her I don't know. She then said to me "a mere looking at you, I thought you were bright, is this simple thing you don't know". it was as if the ground should open let me enter. the class became very tense up because students were anticipating what next could possibly happen. But from that day I vowed to graduate with the best results in that department. All thanks to God I became the most popular, most soughted, most consultated student by students. I wrote assignments for students, I tutored some and went as far as becoming the President of that department, Sole Administrator, and till day Professors in that department still love and honour me. I end up winning on everyside and graduated with strongest 2.1.

My first time in lecture hall... It was a combine deparrmenr class ...the Caribbean prof said write your attendance according to your dept ...over anxiousness and not staying calm..I went to register my name under Electric electronic...I just thought it was a general thing...later I saw my dept list mathematics but it was too late... anyway nothing happened but it's part of being unsettled then...

Maths 111. Tuesday morning.
I came late for the class, cause I walked a very long distance from my Lodge to the school through one of the main gates, hadn't discovered any of the short routes then.
The man was teaching PMI.. Principles of Mathematical Induction. Then sets.
I was just at the back hissing and sighing, telling myself "chaly,see as your failure just start."

my first lecture was maths 111, the topic was sets.. I actually went to the wrong lecture theater because I wanted to be with my friend she was an engineering student.. I was nervous but so happy I couldn't believe I was in the university at long last.. recalling that time is making me nostalgic, it was one of the best most carefree periods of my life.

Right from the first day everybody go dey form serious student. Some will even go for night class that same night lol who una dey deceive. Well during my own first time in the university, I entered class, it was so crowded coz for 100l so many departments dey do the same course. Fine fine girls everywhere but as a bad guy I saw some mature niggas for back seat just flexing and enjoying life, Dem no even send weytin lecturer dey talk... For my mind na my kind of niggaz be this.. I mixed up, we gisted and became padis and 100 level is usually the easiest to fvck babes coz most of them are still naive, dem never see life and they're ready to explore. No jokes e get one guy wey dey fvck at least 2 different babes per week. Na girls dey rush am, u don't even need to have a car or something, just dress well with swags, they'll trip for you. But me as I no get money, I barely had swaggerlicios cloths to wear but still as swagger no fit do the talking fr me, I made it up with my sweeth mouth. Chai I remember one time I told a fellow fresher like me I love seeing a girl in blue bikini lol next time she came to my house she was on blue bra and panties. Those 100l girls their kpekus too tight. Very tight and wet. Na for 100 I chop toto for the first time in my life sef can't forget that day. I lick that toto like ice cream. Memories mehn. University life sweet Sha.. if you get money you go enjoy uni die. I mean die.

NSLT! when I finally find my way, it was jam packed, no entry no exit! I turned back n went home. I didn't attend lecture throughout my year one. I made a couple of friends that kept me inform abt d situations in d Dept and they also covered my ass when some silly lecturers decide to take attendant. #hussler#proudlyfromtheden

The lecture was slated for 8am upon getting there, the hall was already filled, those who did predegree, having been in the campus a year before were jumping here and there like they know everything about the school, they were telling us to vote them for school governor and stuffs.
Then came this good looking mouth on suit, we kept quiet and he began narating how he was formely poor like a church rat after all the long story he told us that he picked a book and read it and his life changed now he is selling books that after reading it we all we gradute with first class upper.
After his own story, Another man came begging for alms
Another came telling us he has registered for NYSC, printed his Call up Letter, but did not have money to travel to state he was posted that we should help his life.

Then Came SUG and their " Vote for me I am going for the post of this and that"
