Ask yourself, does your current president have his level of intellect, or even Jonathan that we all love (God knows I love GEJ)T? Don't invite his type but keep enjoying the numskulls that are littered over your leadership and political space that have jettisoned the destinies of millions of youths like you on the altar of greed. Like him or hate him, this man (by the Faithfulness and help of God) grew a mushroom to a gigantic tree in this hostile environment, but Naija is what it is, you deride the valiant and celebrate the villains because the societal values have been terribly eroded that this generation have a warped perspective to deep and spiritual things. Una go dey alright las las.
Wise words Sir. NIGERIA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN.

My one and only pastor is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is supposed to be our only Shepherd. So when you have for yourself so many other shepherds aside from Jesus Christ (you are not supposed to have two masters), are you sure that you are not by your own admission drawing your own self to that hell you speak of? undecided

Your comment above just confirmed what I said.
Good night sir

All these ITKs.

When Jesus said to Peter to feed His sheep, What was Peter in that instance?

When the scriptures over and over again admonishes leaders to tend to their flocks, what are they in that instance?

Stop reading upside down.

Nauttyprof:
What then can you deduce from Christ statement to Peter when He was about to leave the earth?
Peter, do you love me more than these? Feed my lambs. Peter, do you love me more than these? Feed my sheep. So, can I ask you this, how can a sheep (singular) feed other sheep (plural)?

Fortunately for us all, your questions have already been answered by Jesus Christ Himself in the book of Matthew 25 vs 31 through 40.

Matthew 25 vs 31-40 (ESV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
31. “The Son of Man will come again with divine greatness, and all his angels will come with him. He will sit as king on his great and glorious throne.
32. All the people of the world will be gathered before him. Then he will separate everyone into two groups. It will be like a shepherd separating his sheep from his goats.
33. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34. “Then the king will say to the godly people on his right, ‘Come, my Father has great blessings for you. The kingdom he promised is now yours. It has been prepared for you since the world was made.
35. It is yours because when I was hungry, you gave me food to eat. When I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I had no place to stay, you welcomed me into your home.
36. When I was without clothes, you gave me something to wear. When I was sick, you cared for me. When I was in prison, you came to visit me.’
37. “Then the godly people will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you food? When did we see you thirsty and give you something to drink?
38. When did we see you with no place to stay and welcome you into our home? When did we see you without clothes and give you something to wear?
39. When did we see you sick or in prison and care for you?’
40. “Then the king will answer, ‘The truth is, anything you did for any of my people here,[b] you also did for me.’
In verses 35 through 36, Jesus Christ explained what it means to "feed His sheep" and "take care of His sheep". Everyone who wants to enter the Kingdom of Heaven has to "feed His sheep" and "take care of His sheep", no exceptions.
Nauttyprof:
Christ remains the Chief Shepherd. The Disciples understood this especially Peter.
Jesus Christ never said that. He said He was the ONLY shepherd to His sheep.
Saying instead that He is Chief Shepherd is akin to calling Him a liar.

Jesus Christ never made his followers, who were themselves sheep, shepherds over his sheep. Jesus Christ was clear when He said that He alone is the shepherd over His own sheep. He alone is the one to Teach/instruct/Help/Guide/Counsel etc. His shepherd. He made this clear in His commandments, warning His followers never to install themselves over His sheep. undecided undecided

Winners Chapel operates in more than 120 countries, has 2 world class universities to its name, a 15MW gas plant that provides 24/7 power to its headquarters, etc.

Between heading the Winners Family as its GO, and being President of a country where nothing works, which is better? Truly being president of present-day Nigeria is a stark demotion!

Stop confusing yourself. The scriptures says "not all should become teachers". When people don't yield to the Spirit for understanding, they come up with weird teachings and doctrines. There is hardly any difference with your arguments and people who claim things like Eve slept with the serpent.Repent truly, ask God for the baptism of the Holy Spirit(if you havent) and read the bible again this time asking the Holy Spirit for guidance.
Peace.
The Scriptures said? Jesus Christ said that He and He alone is the only Teacher to those who are His. He commanded that none of His followers install themselves as teachers/rabbis/instructors/masters etc, over His flock.

Matthew 23 vs 8-12
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.[c]
9. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
10. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ.
11. The greatest among you shall be your servant.
12. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Did Jesus Christ lie to you when He is quoted as saying all of these? undecided undecided undecided

So no one should call their earthly fathers, "Father" again na. Call them "the man who born me".

Read the scriptures in context. Verse 12 will give you the point He is passing across.

It's a demotion like papa said, for someone in the level of oyedepo to be vying for presidency, wrong call, people who attain his level in spiritual realm won't consider that a honor because their reputation would be sullied, their names dragged in the mud and their integrity questioned.

I beg to differ.... I believe they are the opposite of Jesus Christ in many many more ways than just that. wink

Keep the debate going even though it won't change anything.

Oyedepo discovered God early in life and, though he's a human being, he's taken gospel to the enviable height.

Today critics say a lot of things about him especially people that have not achieved 1% of his contributions to humanity but Oyedepo 'no send' he remains focussed with the mandate of God.

The CAC still register churches till today. They can register their own and see how cheap it is to be a Shepperd over a church of less than 10 congregation in 1981 and millions today with close to 10,000 branches throughout the globe.

I wish critics the very best in their wailing.

Jesus Christ never said that. He said He was the ONLY shepherd to His sheep.

No Sir, saying He is the Chief Shepherd is calling Him the Truth He is. As the Chief Shepherd, He called many to the assignment of winning more souls for Him.

Do you know what the word 'Pastor' means? It was gotten from a Latin word that means Shepherd. To deny the calling 'Pastor' is to say God never called people to service. Which means you call God a liar of calling people to become Pastors.

You should understand that Christ message to Peter should never be likened to what you just Quoted as they carried two different messages. His message to Peter was on the assignment ahead while His message in the verses you quoted talks more about love for the brethren. This was why Christ broke the Law into 2 - Love your God and Love your neighbour.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Did you note the word 'chief Shepherd'? To deny this is to call the Bible a lie.

Christ remains the overall shepherd but then, He called many to function in that office.

N.B - When Christ called Himself the only Shepherd, He was making a comparison with the Thief 'Devil'. Understand the context as the Author's intended meaning stands.
