Please experts and fellows in the house, a friend of mine wants opinion on whether to stay in 9ja with the 8 million he got after his father's death (he's share of his father's gratuity) or to relocate to Canada.

I'm tired of people like this who come on nairaland, talking bogus bullcraap as if investing in some imaginary 'thing' in Nigeria is guaranteed a return in investment. Mention one industry in Nigeria that isn't overrun with nepotism, tribalism and corruption - where you are guaranteed to be successful no matter your age, gender, background, status or who you know.

Baba, when you don’t know about something try to keep shut. It’s not a must to shalaye. There are people making it big in Nigeria. The country is not working for you doesn’t mean it’s not working for others. There are a lot of wealthy people who didn’t come across 8 million, but today they are making it big. The only way he might get there would be student visa. and the money would have being more than enough to run evry cost n expenses. but in a long run it wouldn't considering welfare, tuition fee for the next year n the year after that, etc. if he has someone here in Nigeria n there in Canada that would always send him money. then no problem. he should be on the next flight.

what I know is, we can't run from our country forever, we will still retire here.

@Op try migrating to the USA via student route. Use part of the money( 150k) to enroll for GRE and Toefl and ace them with high scores, You may be lucky to get scholarships.
