I have submitted the application online and it can't be edited again! Should I tick and write the docs submitted with the application?

If you have uploaded all document just print the upload confirmation. They will not be needed the checklist when using self service. They will need only the first page.

1. For an applicant who is counting 28 days on his/her parent’s account is it necessary that transactions happen on the account during the 28 day period?

2. Must there be withdrawals and deposits during the 28 day period?

3. What if there are no withdrawals and deposits and the total required funds is in surplus does it in anyway affect chances of getting a the Tier 4 visa?

Gurus in the house I await your responses

Book separate appointment for each member of your family. Make sure you pick same date even if not same time, you all will be allowed to submit same time.

Sorry guy I replied late, just saw your message now.Yeah you should fill and tick the document checklist before scanning it but dont sign it yet,as you will do that on your date of appointment.

There is 2 part of the document checklist(Mandatory and Supporting Documents). On the Mandatory document part, write the name of the document you are showing as proves and tick it.

And on the supporting documents part, you should list the rest of your other documents you are submitting and tick it. If page is not enough, you can always print another extra page and continue listing your supporting documents.

1. What is your source of income?
2. Who is sponsoring your trip?
3. What role will your friend play in the visit? (
4. Did your friend attach his/her source of income?
5. Did you friend attach his/her home tenancy/mortgage agreement?
6. Is s/he going to accommodate or feed you throughout the visit?

Above a re some of the questions you need to adequately answer effortlessly. It's no longer enough for you to present a bank statement with fat balance and quote an amount as the cost of the trip.

Ideally, the cost of your trip (if footed by you) should not be more than your two months' salary after you've taken out your expenses for those months and you're left with your disposable income.

You also need to state your source of monthly income as a proof of your intention to return back to your home country at the end of the visit. Being a student or about to graduate without a good paying job or business would definitely work against you except you're able to tie your trip to your academic work (say for example school approved research/exchange visit to another school in the UK).

To me your case is not straight forward until you can effortlessly prove to the visa officer your true intentions with respect to the visit.

twojul:
Hello everyone,

I'd just like some advice before i finalize my application. I will be applying and getting my biometrics done at ikeja. I'll be spending a month in the UK in December and i'll be spending £2k pounds on this trip. (Is that too much or too little?)

Here is a list of my supporting documents:
1. Invitation letter from my friend who is a citizen.
2. My friend's passport data page.
3. My admission letter (i do not school in nigeria) showing date of admission and duration of course but not date of course completion. (However due to some reasons it's taking me longer to get my degree. Would this be an issue? If they calculate and see that i should have graduated last year although my uni has given my a letter addressed to whom it may concern saying i'm still a student – See number 4)
4. Letter from my uni saying I'm currently enrolled as a student.
5. A copy of my student visa expiring summer 2021.
6. Bank statement showing 2,600,000N. (This is my bank statement from my savings account and the money started accumulating from 350k at the beginning of lockdown and took 6 months to reach this amount. My parents decided to still give me my monthly student upkeep money even though i was in Nigeria. I didn't spend it because i was living free with them cos lockdown didn't let me go back to school. I hope this is okay and they won't want an explanation for these funds.)
7. Itinerary.
8. Birth certificate.
9. On a previous application for a study visa, i explained in my additional information that although my study was for 2 months, i had applied for other courses at other institutions and i would stay back to do those courses if i got accepted while in the UK but i obviously would not stay longer than the duration of my visa. I was granted the study visa and i'm assuming they read that clause in my application. I'm including the acceptance letters from those institutions in this current application to prove i was actually busy and not wasting time in the UK. I've now mentioned this previous study period and the clause i said again on my current application and also stated that i supported myself with funds from my parents whose bank statement i provided as supporting document on that study visa application. MY QUESTION NOW IS: Should i include those acceptance letters as documents in this current application and remind them of what i said when i applied for that study visa or i should just forget it because i didn't overstay that study visa.

Sorry for the long story and thanks in advance for the suggestions.

No decision yet, Abuja centre
I recalled while I was attended to, the staff who was handling mine cautioned her fellow staff to desist from telling applicants 15 working days, rather she should tell them when decisions are made they will be notified

My course was for 2 months and i stayed for 6 months. But when i applied i wrote in my form that even tho the course was 2 months, i had applied to another institution and if they accept me i'll stay back to do that course to but i won't stay more than 6 months.
2. Yes I'm a student at a uni in Jamaica.
3. I've been to Barbados to visit about 3 times and I've transited through Antigua, Dominica and Trinidad and i put my transited countries also in the part of the form where they asked.
4. I've travelled to the uk twice before for visit. First time i applied for 6 months visa and the second time for 2 years visa. The third time was for the courses and i was issued a short study visa. I also have a an expired US visa in my passport that i never used.

1. Ive always answered "other source of income - allowance from family or friends" cos i am a student so i dont have a source of income but on my previous uk trips, my dad has always been my sponsor and i use his bank statement showing his monthly pension.
2. I am sponsoring myself this time with my monthly student upkeep money that accumulated over 6 months since i've been in nigeria and not paying any bills. That's why i'm using my own statement from my savings account.
3. My friend just said they are inviting me and i'll be staying with them. They also stated where they work in the letter.
4. My friend only attached passport but no pay slip.
5. My friend didn't attach any other document.
6. My friend didn't say if they'll accommodate me in the letter but they will be accommodating me and i wrote in the form that'll be staying with them.

2. I am sponsoring myself this time with my monthly student upkeep money that accumulated over 6 months since i've been in nigeria and not paying any bills. That's why i'm using my own statement from my savings account.

You need to show the source of the upkeep money, that it is constant and show that you will always come back to it after your trip ended

3. My friend just said they are inviting me and i'll be staying with them. They also stated where they work in the letter.

6. My friend didn't say if they'll accommodate me in the letter but they will be accommodating me and i wrote in the form that'll be staying with them.

Your friend needs to attach his tenancy agreement and proofs that they can accommodate you without strain

4. My friend only attached passport but no pay slip.

Since your friend is inviting you over, you technically are his responsibility and must prove capable of that through the presentation of pay slips and or bank statements in addition to tenancy agreements etc.

Note that it might be difficult sponsoring yourself as a student for a UK visa because there's no assurance that you would return to your home country except you can otherwise convince the visa officer

Pls I beg to disagree. I have been given visa twice while I was a student. I was goin to visit my friend from secondary school then who served as the one inviting. If it’s just accommodation, he doesnt need to present his friend’s payslip... this is because the friend is not financially responsible for his trip.
I have also seen this work for so many others on this thread as long as it’s just accommodation.
I do however support that the friend explicitly states the accommodation in the invitation letter and provides tenancy agreement.

Thank you for responding
When my dad transfers the money every month he usually puts a note saying student up keep and that is showing in the statement. I can't use his statement this time cos he doesn't have sufficient funds.

As i'm a student would that not prove that i'll have to return to my uni and not stay indefinitely in the UK?

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 8:38am On Oct 06, 2020
@twojul.
I think your positives are the following
.1. 2 or 3 previous UK visas used and you returned to Nigeria/Jamaica.
2. 1 previous US visa though unused( America saw you ‘worthy’’ one time to give u visa, it counts for something trust)
3. Student visa in Jamaica, which is still valid till summer 2021

Slight negatives
1. U wrote 2 months on ur last study visa and stayed 6 months even though you state that you mentioned it in your form that you MIGHT stay if given other courses. Did you talk 6 months or did you project 6 months as a possibility??
2. I really dont understand the many statements u re making about why u have not graduated, I hope u dnt have issues with school cus incase they call ur school, u might get in trouble

My advice.
U have to strongly show that your ties to your study in Jamaica is still there, strongly so and that u are at the last stage and can not possibly abandon years of hardwork to go and stay in the UK.

2. Every right thinking school that issues an introductory letter usually states when the student will be done with their course. U said this is not in ur letter, is there a plan to tackle this?

3. Please this trip to visit your friend must have a purpose, if there’s no purpose, I feel ur intentions mightt be doubted. Purpose include... summer vacation, christmas holiday, tourist purpose, or how you have missed ur friend so much and u people decided to see again after bla bla years.
Ur friend should also state the story u are using in the invitation letter.

4. On what happend at your last trip, that you stayed 6 months in the UK... ha.. and you are supposed to be a student with a course in another University ... pls what wud u tell them gave u the permission to be absent from ur main school for 6 whole months?
Is that how students can take a trip and not come to school for 6 months??

If I remember anythin else, I would speak up.
