IPPIS is a scam right from the beginning and ASUU have pointed out this. We can also see that this claim have been validated by the NASU and SSANU recently.

Even when they were on strike, we kept paying them. We paid in March, April, May, June and July. They are now on the IPPIS because during the period of the lockdown, there was no other way to pay them. When they gave us their bank verification numbers, we migrated them to the IPPIS and we are now paying them on the IPPIS.”

Students shouting its government's fault, see your lecturers are still being paid for teaching you nothing.
if you believe what you just quoted then you must believe that Book Haram has been defeated smiley
It is government propaganda, the truth is that IPPIS was used to pay February to June, without the lecturers consent, when the lecturers started faulting the IPPIS using the unconsented enrollment, then the IPPIS decided to stop the salary payment. Yet ASUU members refused to enroll (though very few members went to enroll in Abuja!). No salary was paid from July till date!

What do you mean by Chief Lecturer? As there is nothing like that in Nigerian University.
The salary you quoted is more that an Associate Professor salary but not up to a Professor salary.

The demands of ASUU are very simple and direct but it takes the will of the govt to implement all. I don't see any reason why the payment platform of ASUU called UTAS cant be accepted. I believe the University system is unique and this uniqueness should be adopted. Also the University needs holistic revitalization urgently before it becomes dead just like the primary and secondary schools.

You just typed trash, how about you tell us how much chief lecturers, associate proffesors and professors are paid to be taxed above 50k?
I pay a tax of #18,350 monthly and it is indirectly proportional to my monthly pay and there is no harm in it. Do you even know how much a professor earns? How on hell does their tax render the minimum wage useless? Those who could complain of unfavourable minimum wage are those at the base of the payroll not the senior staff and officials. You should not pay tax at all then.
I can even swear you are just a wannabe staff, you don't know how the system works.
Now get off my sight and make the right complaints.

Actually na fight.
Does it make sense at all to talk about how much you are taxed without opening up on how much you are paid?
The assistant lecturers, other junior staff and co are the ones being probably underpaid and whatever benefits come out of this nonsensical strike won't even get to them. And that one was foolishly writing about professors as if na small money them dey collect.

This one is among those that type because there is a comment section. Someone said what he thinks about a system in the most civil way. Something is fishy here, government keeps lying left, right and center: Ngige said lecturers are not being owed kobo, he said so on national TV! IPPIS director said all lecturers are now on IPPIS and they are only being owed August and September salary.
All the above are blatant lies!

Some lecturers enrolled into IPPIS disobeying the ASUU directives and are receiving salaries.

The rest that did not enrol last received salary in July and it appears this category are much more in number.

There are some allowances university staff used to receive that FG says is not documented and so should be paid by various university mgt from IGR, this is why it appears salaries reduced.

Lastly universities were not paying the effective tax and pension before now so with the "reduced" salaries the effective rates are assessed further reducing the money.

Whatever trashy point you are trying to make still very much alligns with mine, those your politicians are heavily paid, senior staff in Nigeria are heavily paid. Professors are well paid.
Whatever they claim they are fighting for isn't for the betterment of the students nor the junior staff but for the enrichment of their own pockets.
Who should complain then? The junior staff and not the animals with an already over bloated pay.
Now get out of my mention.

A Chief lecturer should earn more than this. It is equivalent to a Professor in the university system. A newly promoted professor earns at least between 400-420k monthly and at bar earns like 550k. But some state universities scale are more than this. E.g RSUST,AkwaibomSU and the likes. They get up to 600-650k monthly

Unemployable youth as a result of what....You still believe in that curried excuses of "poor funding of universities, inadequate infrastructure, poor learning conditions" and other nonsensical excuses ASUU claimed to be fighting for since time memorial Just check the auditing of simple funds like "TETFUND" in Nigeria university system..you will amazed with how corruption is so enmeshed in university systems. What about little research grants some of these professors received They just chop money clean mouth.
All I am saying is, the little commited into theirs hands are being mismanaged years after years.

Now, their major headache is IPPIS a system put in place to check ghost workers and lecturers excesses in collecting salaries in three , four universities at the same time. Making them ineffective and churning out half-baked graduate you talked about.

They should allow sanity in our system...they should go back to class!

Now, I think I have schooled you enough. If you still don't understand...too bad.
Now, get the hell out of my mention.

Why can't they just say: "some lecturers enrolled in IPPIS and have been paid up to date, while those who did not enroll only stopped receiving salary from July"

You are in too much hurry to blame ASSU.

Are the following agencies on IPPIS
1. NNPC
2. CBN
This is where basic salaries run in several zeros. The highest paid university professor does not go home with up to N500,000.
Yes, FG should deduct tax BUT implement the concerns of ASSU.
