It didn't take me more than 2 minutes of highlights to confirm that he was a small club fullback. Zero attacking nous, negative passing ability. But some here argued with me that he will get better in a big team as if he intentionally refused to show those skills at Crystal Palace.

It was not until he got here and we watched him regularly that we discovered that apart from zero attacking ability he was also had poor positioning.

As an uncapped, unproven defensive fullback he should not have cost more than 15m pounds.

Woodward has learnt the hard way.

He's not paying shit load for any player any time soon. You over price your player like this, he moves to the next alternative. It's the model clubs like Bayern have been using , which usually make it look like they buy good players at bargain prices. That is because they usually scout for more than 2-3 players for a position they want to buy for.

See, in football once you enter your 20s what you can do is IMPROVE on what you already have and also be more consistent at it. You can't suddenly ACQUIRE a new skill.

In particular at that age it is almost impossible to suddenly develop a great touch or great dribbling. It is easier to improve shooting, crossing, tackling, positioning e.t.c BUT touch and dribbling is developed before 18.
