@Giselle237

Today make 15 working days after my biometrics in Abuja. If I don't hear from them today, should I contact UKVI or should I wait for more days before contacting them? Please I need your advice. Thanks.
U can wait a little. They might send u a not straightforward email today OR maybe a decision email.. u can wait and see how it plays out cause I do believe they have a lot of applications at the mo’

Please for those who chose self service do you upload your application form pdf and the checklist or do you print those out and take it as hard copy to the biometrics appointment.
No to uploading the checklist and application form. Just go with the checklist on your biometrics day

Hello everyone,

I'd just like some advice before i finalize my application. I will be applying and getting my biometrics done at ikeja. I'll be spending a month in the UK in December and i'll be spending £2k pounds on this trip. (Is that too much or too little?)

Here is a list of my supporting documents:
1. Invitation letter from my friend who is a citizen.
2. My friend's passport data page.
3. My admission letter (i do not school in nigeria) showing date of admission and duration of course but not date of course completion. (However due to some reasons it's taking me longer to get my degree. Would this be an issue? If they calculate and see that i should have graduated last year although my uni has given my a letter addressed to whom it may concern saying i'm still a student – See number 4)
4. Letter from my uni saying I'm currently enrolled as a student.
5. A copy of my student visa expiring summer 2021.
6. Bank statement showing 2,600,000N. (This is my bank statement from my savings account and the money started accumulating from 350k at the beginning of lockdown and took 6 months to reach this amount. My parents decided to still give me my monthly student upkeep money even though i was in Nigeria. I didn't spend it because i was living free with them cos lockdown didn't let me go back to school. I hope this is okay and they won't want an explanation for these funds.)
7. Itinerary.
8. Birth certificate.
9. On a previous application for a study visa, i explained in my additional information that although my study was for 2 months, i had applied for other courses at other institutions and i would stay back to do those courses if i got accepted while in the UK but i obviously would not stay longer than the duration of my visa. I was granted the study visa and i'm assuming they read that clause in my application. I'm including the acceptance letters from those institutions in this current application to prove i was actually busy and not wasting time in the UK. I've now mentioned this previous study period and the clause i said again on my current application and also stated that i supported myself with funds from my parents whose bank statement i provided as supporting document on that study visa application. MY QUESTION NOW IS: Should i include those acceptance letters as documents in this current application and remind them of what i said when i applied for that study visa or i should just forget it because i didn't overstay that study visa.

Sorry for the long story and thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I would plan to spend GBP1200 instead. of GBP2,000.

I read here on this thread, some people who did biometric in Lagos 15 September received collection email on Friday 02 October

A friend went with his wife on Sep 15th, he got collection email on Friday Oct 2nd but the wife's own is not yet ready. Wife was denied entry to UK due to using work visa for tourist. Perhaps reason it's taking long. Anyone has a clue why? My friend collected his visa yesterday at Ikeja.

For self service just go with the first page of your checklist, TLS Appointment and printed documents upload confirmation.

If home office did not send any refusal letter to you, it means your visa has been approved. That is the new norm.

Is there anyone who could not travel to the UK due to travel restrictions caused by COVID-19 whose 6 months visit visa expired during the pandemic that has reapplied and visa was reissued?

You are blessed. I thought they would just ask us to return our passport for visa replacement. I will turn in my application when I am ready.

Visit any of the African nations to increase your chances.

Yeah. A travel history is good but not mandatory. Just make a good application

Don't really know. If it's same stamp, then it's fine.

There had been no update from my priority visa application since last week.

Its not TLS that makes visa decision. Its ukvisa. So I sent them a paid mail enquiry to ask why my passport was returned without a decision taken. Am awaiting their reply
Have you gotten any response from UKVI?

Travel history maybe good but not a deciding factor. Unlike Shenghen and Canada refusal letters, I have not seen UK visa refusal based on travel history. Get a watertight application and get your visa. We have seen many first timer's clinch their visa. I have seen people who for the fear of travel history sent their passport by road to Ghana to get stamp and claim unnecessary travel history. Many were banned for forgery. I also know of someone with fake Benin, Togo and Ghana border stamp returned in Heathrow en route to the US. Just package your application tight with good reasons to visit and show you have the finances with verifiable source and you will surely get it.
