timay: Bro .u obviously don't know Komekn o... A few days back,he made a statement suggesting that the Austrian league was on par with the English league one.. In his word, the Austrian league was almost on the same level with the Scottish league and the Scottish league is considered as being on the same level as league one by the British press,so technically, the Austrian league is more or less on the same level as league one That was in response to those who weren't happy with Tijani's call up |

komekn:Its not always about the cash for the SE. They get all that at Club level. Besides you keep bringing up Rashford. I'd bring up Sterling too. These guys wantu make a point in relation to their background of poverty. Without sponsorship, Rashford is okay with his feeding program but yet. So, Rashfor is doing 'something'!!! But for the SE, is it a money spinner always that you'd think they wana do so for majorly the cash? No!!! Then i can't even relate to naija born guys wanting to hope on the 3 Lions if the opportunity presented itself. The Ighalo situo is relatable... just to sign for dream club. Something thats common with virtually all pro Naija footballers... They will do anything to play for dream club. |

Akpoguma Gets FIFA' s Nod To Play For Super Eagles completesports.com Oct 6, 2020 7:55 AM Akpoguma Gets FIFA’ s Nod To Play For Super Eagles Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma has been granted permission by FIFA to make his switch to the Super Eagles with immediate effect, reports Completesports.com. President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick announced the good news on the social media. ”Coach Gernot Rohr might be a bit light in the middle. However, I’m extremely happy to announce that @FIFAcom has just granted Hoffenheim defender and former German U-20 national team skipper Kevin Ufuoma Akpoguma permission to make his switch to Nigeria with immediate effect,”Pinnick tweeted on Monday night. The centre-back recently disclosed his intention to switch allegiance and represent Nigeria at senior level. The 25-year-old represented Germany at youth level playing for the U16, U17, U18, U19, U20, and U21 teams. Akpoguma was the captain of the German U-20 team that reached the quarter-finals of the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand. The tough tackling defender stormed the Super Eagles Hotel Die Ziet, Austria camp on Monday ahead of Friday’s friendly encounter against African champions Algeria. He is in camp to familiarise with the Nigeria set-up and bond with other players. |

komekn: Let us clear this. No one begged Akpoguma. Akpoguma’s father wanted him to play for Nigeria but the boy wanted to wait for his opportunity with Germany. Once Germany looked impossible, he indicated his interest to represent Nigeria. Ejaria and Lookman are in the process too. Abraham went back on his word once England showed interest. Once he saw England green light, he denied his uncle, Pinnick. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Who permitted Eze to train with us in the first place? Didn't Rohr and the NFF allow it? Also, at what place was Eze when Rohr first saw him? And Rohr wasn't ignoring him for years, he was watching him for that period and also focusing on other players under his monitor. Or is a coach not allowed to watch and observe a player as much as he wants? He then finally reached out to Eze when Eze was still free and boom! Eze went with U-21 invite to England. Eze himself even compared his training with Nigeria in Barnet back then with his training with the England U-21s and he said that he would have regretted picking Nigeria at the time even. So how is that Rohr's fault? Eze himself said he would have regretted it. forgiveness: 2 Likes 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: So, Rohr was blind to see his obvious talent until after how many years? Eze was snubbed by Rohr for years even when he was doing far better than some players in the championship. Of course, Eze could be bitter for been snubbed and might be doing or saying things due to the bitterness. |

Maybe partially but looking at the full story I know now, I really cannot fault Rohr. He had a right to choose to keep observing Eze. It is not as if Rohr wasn't working on the team all that time. He clearly was but was taking the time to also see Eze from a distance. Club performances doesn't always mean you will hit it big with the NT. Also, it wasn't as if Eze was outstanding since 2017. He was not. He only truly broke out in 2019/2020. Nothing really outstanding about him in 2017/2018 or in 2018/2019 so Rohr was right to keep watching. And yes, Eze made the regret statement this year in a podcast with Nedum Onouha but he was referring to the time he was called to camp with Nigeria in Barnet. He said after he joined up with the England U-21s (which came after turning down Nigeria's approach last year before the Brazil game) that he felt more drawn to the English and that he would have regretted picking Nigeria back then when he trained in Barnet with us. So if that doesn't tell us something, I don't know what else will. Perhaps Rohr dodged a bullet. His heart was just never with us. Finito. Danielnino00: 2 Likes 1 Share |

You keep shouting years as if it is 20yrs or even 5 yrs. Eze only has one outstanding season in the Championship and that was in 2019/2020. When else was he outstanding?? Please answer me. Rohr was right to observe. And Rohr rightly reached out to him with some folks last year in the course of the 2019/20 season with Eze doing well and this was just before the Brazil game but he turned us down and went with England U-21s. Eze has also said he would have regretted choosing Nigeria even as far back as March 2017 b'cos after he joined up with England U-21s last year being 2019, he said he felt more drawn to England than to Nigeria who he trained with in 2017. That is a gap of two years and see what he said about that a year later. So please... Eze can wait for his call-up from England. It won't bother anyone b'cos he has already said he would have regretted picking us. I would have loved to have him but you cannot force a lad whose heart was not with you from the very beginning. forgiveness: 3 Likes 1 Share |

forgiveness:He scored 1 goals in 11 games... What's impressive about that? You keep saying he was abandoned... What about the numerous home grown players that have been abandoned after getting injured while playing for the country? In case you don't know, when a player gets injured while on international duty, FIFA not the club or the country will be the one to pay him his wage until he recovers.. And again, tell us,did Anichebe hit form after he recovered from his injury? abi we should have recalled him as a thank you for getting injured on our behalf Onazi got a life threatening injury while playing for Nigeria at the world cup,he recovered, got back to playing well at his club and got back to the SE starting eleven... |

BascoVanVeli:Anyone that doubts that guy's abilities clearly doesn't know him. He's one of the best African wingers. Arguably better than Simon. And he's going to be very hard to displace in the national team. He's got all that is required of a winger. Simon had been starting ahead of him only because he's been inactive for a while... Injury I think. |
