There's no bias there. It's a well known fact that English players are expensive and the EPL pays the highest salaries in world football.

The players I listed for you are they english players? The 16yr old Madrid bought for 41million is he english? I don't have time for back and forth senseless argument when its based on sentiments and not facts.

@spy360 and Blueraydick stop arguing over what there's no clear cut answer. One of the reasons Steven Gerrard was being hailed back then by Pele was his ability to play almost as deep as a defensive midfielder and up forward almost like a supporting striker. Sometimes he'd slide to the wings and deliver pull outs even David Beckham would marvel at. It's all about athleticism, skill, versatility etc.
The modern day football demands you be more than a one trick pony and the philosophy of your coach matters too. Technically Ozil is one of the best midfielders in the world right now but let him make it into Arteta's midfield let's see now.
Ask most modern coaches for their their list of top ten number 9s and Bobby Firminho will feature in virtually all. That one I'm still trying to understand though I get their point.
Are you sure of what you put up there?

There are players who were given free roles. That is not what we are talking about.

FYI, Firminho is not my preferred no 9, when there are humans called Aubameyang, Kane, Aguero, etc. And this is just EPL selection.

Many of us didn't understand Gerard's greatness till he was almost done. His versatility and skillset were incredible.
The article below is from 2010 btw ,

One of the biggest footballing debates in recent times, at least among the viewers of English football, has been Steven Gerrard’s best position. Is it out on the right, where he played from 2005-2007 for Liverpool? Is it on the left, where he’s occasionally played for England? Is it as an old-fashioned central midfielder, where he played for most of his Liverpool career until Benitez came in? Or is it just behind the centre forward, where he’s played since Torres signed for Liverpool? Lets take a look.......

Theo Walcott has returned home for retirement football. He's back to Southampton. Iwobi has some space now to making top 3 subs if he starts from the bench giing forward. Well since he desired giving baba selection headache, im sure he meant it.

Finally, So the Pernandes isn't going to be the best 18 in the EPL again? Cool.

Arsenal are rude. But i think our club is one of the clubs in Europe that knows virtually allll the rules involved in the game but 90% of the fieldplay rules Don favour us always. Very ironic and hilarious. We passed thru la liga. Lol.

Guen finally in Hertha. Lucky he's not thrown away. If James Rodiguez is taking EPL like this, i expect Partey to start picking up numbers. The last time we had a long range short was when Torreira did so last season against Wolves or so a few games towards end of season.

In as much as we're really happy about this signing... We still lacking in creativity....unless ofcourse Ozil is coming back into the team

With 19 non home grown player we can only register 17. Who drops for who...

Akinbahm:

Elneny nah good player during Wenger days not afraid to make some decisions, good with tackles pre injury time though after he came back from injury he never remain the same Elneny nd bench also added to his woes plus Emere never rate him just as Arteta never rate Torreira....

Modified: He is an upgrade on Xhaka who just play to the back to restart possession even when he suppose to face upfront and start attack but brother Xhaka go still pass back go meet leno or luiz.
Sure say elneny na better player under Wenger? Mehn to be sincere with you, I never fancied that guy one bit under Wenger. In fact, it was only against a Europa league game against CSKA Moscow (Wenger last season) that he played well to me. The other matches, na really head-scratcher for me.

But now, under Arteta, I prefer his play to xhaka. He's really press resistant than xhaka and he doesn't fall down under any slight touch, looking for fouls (something I'm critical for mostly xhaka and guen).

Because xhaka is just clueless na cheesy, he doesn't want to miss pass so he falls over.
Jerrycurl own is intentional, we can be attacking then he will be hoarding the ball for foul

I'm glad partey is here.
I hope we utilize him properly.
Hopefully, the club will plan to get an AM next summer or January.
Also we should be looking at how to replace ceballos. He'll really be a big loss to us if he goes. I hope the club has someone up to replace him too

Yes Gerard was very versatile and could play any where. I have seen him play RFB even. It's sad he couldn't accomplish much his talent deserves.

Gerard was mostly given a free role during his last years. So he can do almost everything with the ball.

The discussion was about those players that are fixed at CM position especially the likes of Guen and Jorginho. undecided
