tglobal: You have very limited elementary understanding and appreciation of football. Youth football is at best indicative of potential but far from conclusive. It says this is place where you can anchor further progression upon. Nigeria probably has the best record at U17 football in the World or very close to it. Why are we not world Cup winners and have world class players ❓ Because our dominance at youth level should by your rational transfer to the Senior game. But we are VERY FAR OFF. In 2009 we hosted the World U17 cup we came second our players were outstanding. But where are all of them now ❓ Emma Sanni best player in the tournament, where is he Borja top goal scorer, plays in the mediocrity of the Segunda División with Huesca. However, Brazil that did not go anywhere in the tournament has three players who are truly either the best in the world or very close to it. Just to mention a few. Namely. Allison - Liverpool goalkeeper Coutinho - No introduction required Neymar - ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Now maybe your mind will not just explode but also implode as you consider the folly of your irrational misguided inferences. I could add look at Solanke outstanding at U21 level golden boot winner. U21 is more realistic of quality and potential than U17. But he could not transfer that dominance to the Senior game. After £20 million pound transfer he is more or less a complete flop. Osimhen has gone to Napoli for a world class fee a fee that is higher than the fee for Lukaku a truly a WORLD CLASS PLAYER arguably one of the best strikers in the World. Thats a huge responsibility to live up too for a player who has not completed two seasons of first team football before his transfer and predominantly in lower leagues. There should be cautious optimism not euphoric hype and over expectations he is far from world class. |

komekn: The 2009 u17 produced 1 ogenyi onazi 2 olanrewaju kayode 3 Ajagun 4 Ramon Azeez 5 Keneth Omeruo At least these players are decent even though not world class. Only onazi came close to world class when he was in italy. You are right anyway. We have to learn to convert our success in youth football into producing world class players. |

Just finding out that former Nigerian U-17 star to UAE 2013 WC, Chidera Ezeh is now with FC Vizela in the Portuguese second tier (Liga Pro). Joined as a free agent for three seasons after contract expired at Portimonense. Another lad that just went down the path of obscurity. Smh. It's well. 2 Likes 1 Share

Just to clarify some things cos of all the arguments going on about exclusives or no exclusives. Toyin Ibitoye said in an interview on lagos talks today that Tobias Lawal was originally invited but was dropped because he wasn't sure if his availability before he later called that he was going to be available. Also Tobi Adelakun said Ehizibue is being delayed in his own words "he has issues with his immigration status in Holland and once it's sorted he'll be a part of the team" Good Morning everyone 2 Likes 1 Share |

And this again confirms the truth in my posts on Ehizibue's passport issues and on Tobias' original invite status/change of mind. Thank you. It really doesn't kill anyone to acknowledge the fact that my posts broke these first and correctly. Only Haters and detractors with nothing to cogently contribute to info sharing will be barking like dogs and looking to derail those who are doing something they love out of passion. No one here is paying me a dime for this. We move. Merci encore. Oluislong: 5 Likes 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: He didn't if u ask me. He has a pro career and is feeding his family. We have to get away from the notion that all our youth players must become great footballers. Honestly if he had said he wanted to go to school and become a doctor instead of playing football I would be happy. Our goal should be making them great MEN in the future. |

Well, from this angle, you are right. His family sees the good he has brought them money wise. But judging by his talents shown at the U-17 level, let me just say and I gotta admit I expected just a little more. Not all lads go on to be top class or world class footballers but being a decent one at least was on the books but that hasn't exactly worked out. And yes, in the end, football will come and go and they will have the rest of their lives to live after football. Being Men of Value even after one's football career is done, should be the Ultimate goal for them. You are right. BascoVanVeli: 1 Like |
