Hi everyone. Please do we begin counting the processing days from the date of the biometrics or from the day after?
I'm asking because I paid for a priority visa on Wednesday 30 September. Right now the tracking still says transferred to DMC.
I put a call to UKVI and a decision has been made.. |

TheGuyFromHR:
Note that TransferWise is also an online bank like Monzo, Starling or Metro, but for our purposes it is way better than Monzo because it is open to users anywhere in the world, i.e. you can open a TransferWise bank account from Nigeria, with your Nigerian address and phone number, and they will give you an account number which you can then use to transfer money from your Nigerian domiciliary account. You don't need a VPN to use it from Nigeria and you don't need an app (optional). Just use your PC to connect.
When you get to the UK and open an account, you can then transfer your money from the TransferWise account to whichever new account you open in the UK, be it an online bank (which is faster and will come with a debit card, very necessary) or a physical B&M one.
Basically you "upload" your money by making all your transfers from Nigeria before you go and ensuring there are no problems from the Nigerian end (I have had none from GTB thus far, I used their online banking), then "download" your money when you get to the UK. They don't charge fees for local intra-UK bank transfers.
Many thanks for this detailed guide. 1 Like |

I heard someone saying they won’t accept micro finance bank even if it was approved by CBN but you know how parents are, I had a serious argument with my dad this morning and he said bank is bank so far it is being recognized by CBN. Please can I use a micro finance bank account statement for UK student visa?? Urgent and sure response please. Thanks |

I have a a few questions please. For dependents visa.
1. Apart from the bank statement what does the principal applicant husband need as documents to show. That is,would marriage Certificate be requested,if yes is it court marriage Certificate or church own will suffice.
2. For the kids, apart from bank statement of principal applicant, what other documents would they need. That is would they need birth certificate to prove relationship to their parents (note they have this,I am just asking to gather more documents if need be)etc. 1 Like |

That is,would marriage Certificate be requested,if yes is it court marriage Certificate or church own will suffice. Court certificate..unless the church one is same as court..otherwise, you would have done a seperate registry ceremony..so use the official one travel history (if any) TB test result
2. For the kids, apart from bank statement of principal applicant, what other documents would they need. That is would they need birth certificate to prove relationship to their parents (note they have this,I am just asking to gather more documents if need be)etc. letter of consent from both parents (search the thread for samples, this was shared last month), their birth certificates and travel history (if any) TB test result

Omoogun01: Good day house, you are doing amazing work here. Thanks to the founder. Please I quickly need your candid advice. I want to submit applications for me and my wife. I'm going for my msc program. I'm the main applicant tho, I had a visiting Visa rejection in 2018 at UK embassy, Germany in 2016 and Portugal in 2017, please do I need to declare all these in application, also, In 2016, the agent I used for German visit visa did wedding certificate for me in 2016, my visa was refused tho, in 2018, i submitted thesame wedding certificate for UK visa which was refused. I read abt the guy that was talking abt wedding certificate case last week, so, I decided to go Ikeja registry to confirm my wedding certificate today, they said, they don't have the record. Fear catch me, they advise me to do another one which would be registered with thesame lady tho . My question is, is it possible for me to submit another wedding certificate that would different to the one I submitted in 2018, is it save? I've done news paper change of my wife already bcus I ve been using the certificate like that since, or what should I do please, I want to submit application before Friday. I have a kid with thesame girl but I'm going with my wife alone. At ikeja registry. They asked to do a real wedding now. And I've done engagement and introduction in 2016 with the believe I had wedding certificate.
Help with advice and step to take plss Please, I need the una response asap. I wish to join the winning team and share my testimony here too.. I've done news paper change of name for my wife. Bourne007: This new visa is a big change compared to the tier 4 visa. Part timers can apply, dependants can switch in-country, no proof of financial requirements after 12 months etc.
@justwise.. Looks like a new thread needs to be created.
Yes will do that in the next part of this thread |

Thank you so much @mamacajah.
In response to travel history, none at all for all of us. We how ever have had a Visa refusal to Canada. (TOURIST VISA) Wanted going with my husband and kids,my husband was the main applicant. Now for student Visa for UK I am the main applicant, going to RGU. I have paid tuition deposit and we have all done TB test.
So due to the refusal I am trying to be very careful in making sure all I need to do for the UK is in line with all they want and correct hence my questions.
Would this be a big issue?
Many thanks. |

Help me with advice please Nobody can predict and tell you how this would go... it all depends on the checks the case officer does. If you agree to use forged documents for whatever reason then there can be consequences . Your previous application is in the system and can be pulled up if needed and anything submitted can be later verified I can only say trying to correct it is 50/ 50. If your new application is not thoroughly checked then maybe you can be successful , if it checked properly and discrepancies are found then you can have a major problem . It can go either way |

Having prior refusals doesn't mean that you can't get a visa (except in cases of deception and other grievous reasons), just ensure that you address the refusals and their reasons. Also ensure that all submitted documents are held in the manner and format required by UKVI. Elizabeth28:

1. The court marriage certificate. I know that licenced churches give 2 certificates, use the one that has the Nigerian govt logo, not the one with the church logo. Pictures and any joint bills for about two years can also be used. 2. You need their birth certificate, TB test certificate and letter of consent. Elizabeth28: Morning Guys.

lol, I can understand..fear of receiving another denial after several ones can be disheartening, trust me I have been there. Don't orry, You are good to go. As long as you declare all the refusals during your applications, it is fine..just follow the instructions and you will be alright We are all going to the same place..so maybe we will see when you come over, by God's grace. |

Thanks See quoted response below. mimilyrics: According to the UKVI, bank statements must be from banks regulated by "........in the case of overseas accounts, the home regulator (official regulatory body for the country the institution is in and where the money is held) for the purpose of personal savings accounts, confirming funds have been held for a consecutive 28-day period ending no more than 31 days before the date of the application and no later than the date of application."
The financial regulatory body in Nigeria is CBN so if a MFB is registered with CBN and regulated by them, the MFB is okay to use.
You should also find out if any one has used the statements from that bank before because it also proves that the bank can satisfactorily verify financial statements through UKVI established channels. The bank being able to verify the statement to UKVI as required and when due is key.
