Keep in mind not everyone will have a white collar job or a thriving business. But these young folks will come online and tweet rubbish because they’re so out of touch with reality.

Feeding is quite expensive and people often overlook it and call it 'just food' it gulps plenty money especially now that everything is annoyingly pricey.


So I am not surprised seeing 150k above as feeding expenses for the month.It much more than that for families with more children and infants.

The annoying part is if you try to cut costs on some aspects of feeding it must affect the quality or quantity.

There's a compact family bouquet for less then 5k with enough quality channels (sports, cartoons, news, series, movies, educational).

My mum was telling to buy a tv and Dstv. I told her I don't watch tv anymore, unlike when I was younger.
The only thing that brings me to tv is football. And streaming has taken over so, nothing concern me and tv for now.

If someone comes to ask me which should he/ she choose between paying a rent of 300- 400k and taking care of feeding for a family of four/ five I will advise the person to choose paying rent. At least you will gather money to pay rent once, chop money - you no dey pay am finish

You see tomatoes, my mum waits until it is the season for tomatoes and then she goes to the market very early around 7am. She now buys a basket or 2 of tomatoes very cheap, grinds it and then dries the tomatoes, it serves us until the next tomatoes season. Similar with dry fish and stock fish, in fact we have a whole sack of them in our freezer at home. the same for most of the other foodstuff. Mind you, we have two deep freezers.
So while buying food stuff in bulk is one of them, timing is another and other cost cutting measures which i don't know about. So my initial reply still stands.

Ah the normal grinder, that big one that makes so much noise, the one that the woman would be using stick to force the tomatoes inside

For the bolded, that one is no longer about foodstuff management, that is something else.

But what i can say is, if ice in the freezer melts after one day, maybe the freezer needs to be changed(i know it would cost money, but it would serve you better in the long run).
the small chest freezer i have here, it stays for 3 to 4 days before the ice melts completely.
