Rohr bringing back the 1994 Super Eagles era where wing play was very potent and full backs were no nonsense

Our midfield was superb in 1994 with the likes of oliseh and okocha

So even Brazil and Flamengo star, Gabriel Barbosa loves the Nigerian National team jersey... Hmmmm... wink
I once watched a video on YouTube last year when he did an ancestral DNA test for the show he was about 27% Nigerian, probably that also explains why, will post the link as soon as I find it

LOL, wing play is no longer part of the modern game. Today’s wingers are strikers and the fullbacks are you’re wingers.

D balls loving doctor, welcome back. Glad to read from you again and thank you for your service in the frontlines. Meanwhile coach Rohr is still very much in control and it doesn't look like he's going away soon. Which player(s) are you looking forward to watch perform in the GWG.

Thanks a lot Boss. it hasn't been easy the past 8-6 months, it hasn't. I can't remember the last time I comfortably watched a football game. Nigeria is a messed up country, she really is.

I think Akpoguna, I don't know if he was invited but I guess, but on the other spectrum I'd say Iwobi, managed to catch the Everton-Brighton game and somehow he was sharp, kinda playing to impress but generally sharp. I think if Ancelotti is going to watch our game then he will perform but let's see how it goes.

Wow top 30 is not good enough, you were expecting a miracle worker?

Depends on where you look at it from. We have ranked higher than that yes? and the coaches then didn't have close to this current pool no? You can look at it from the angle of 'hey, we were worse off before the came so any positive movement is tremendous', but if you survey it from the angle of the current youth players coming through, I mean before Rohr, Iwobi and Nacho, one an academy player and the other, well, lol, but right now check what he has. We dropped our standards too low too for him.

Lmao, just to remind you; this is our highest Ranking in 7 years

A couple of questions, how many years has he been here out of that 7? Essentially he is an improvement on himself no?

second, when was the last time we had a decent crop of players like this? more than 7 years ago right? wl

camp update
frank is now fit after picking up an Injury thanks to the doctors and the fitness coach he is in contention to start on Friday
apkoguma continue his nice form yet again
tobias and nacho not in the mini test( two practice game ) probably fitness issue or maybe for Tobias ( still doubt for his future ) or more likely saving them for the Tunisia game
it becoming more glaring rohr will pair ekong and apkoguma together the chemistry between kelvin and trost seems better than that of Ajayi and apkoguma
now to the tactics
rohr is likely to employ his trust 4 2 3 1 formation and switch later on to 4 4 2 second half probably with the introduction of musa
The big question now is who will start between Paul and Desser Paul has been phenomal he scored a goal yesterday but his movement off the ball is something that should be taken to cognisance same with his physicality there is more to play for tommorow also desser is absolutely though he didn't score yesterday but his ability is in no doubt crazy first touches one of the best in the shooting drills probably tomorrow final training will lets us know
also there is a fierce competition between ebuehi and aina
who will start ??
ebuehi no doubt is doing what he is known for balance play between the defense and attack while aina seems to be lost in the attack
musa vs Kalu and ejuke
tomorrow training will decide this three-way royal rumble the trio has been fantastic no doubt.
the goalkeeping department will have okoye in goal
rohr is looking at giving okoye his first start against Algeria he has been decent in goals today and his drills were perfect so let's watch out for him.
Conclusion
so we will have akpoguma and akong, sanusi, onyeka, agu, maduka 90% sure to start.
whle the rest will be decide tomorrow.

What do you mean by "Hasn't worked much".
Where were we just before he took over and where are we now?

Judge based on where we should be and not where we were before he came. There was initial progress, I was okay with that, we needed his stability and it set us up perfectly. But is this where we should be right now? I want a yes or a no

Rohr is showing more tactical prowess creativity is now coming from the wings and full backs we dont really need to rely on the midfield.

That's what I am talking about.

Matthew Yakubu is one keeper I've keen interest in seeing cos of his passing and sweeping ability. What I've always wanted to see in a goal keeper

Adeleye is more of a better sweeper than Yakubu that guy has mad confidence he can sweep ball for africa more like onana I really love the dude. Though no one is missing his ability just like you've said yakubu is a very good sweeper too.
