I wont put it exactly the way you put it

Even though you are right

How I would put it, is that America gives you the financial incentive to be fiscally irresponsible
And if you go down that road
You will have yourself to blame

When there is nothing wrong with the tv and game console you bought say 10 months ago
Why do you see the need to buy another one?
Especially as you can barely afford it

Your current iPhone is still very functional
And its not even up to 22 months since it was released
Then all of a sudden you want to ditch that one and get anotherundecided

Or a lower income person see the need to periodically change his car and get stuck with a $400 car note undecided

Which kind destructive psychology be this ?

I think one of the best things to happen to anybody is when he gets a grip of his finances and consumption patterns.
And live by the motto :
Spend less than you make
And if you cant afford it
Dont buy it

It's a good lesson that takes one far

Do you now see why such are brought to Nigeria as fairly used and people now think they are being bought because of poverty.

A young Nigerian man has been murdered in the US five months after graduating from Virginia Tech where he studied industrial system engineering.

Alexander Nwogu, 23, had just been hired as a tech consultant with a Northern Virginia firm, Ernst and Young, before he was murdered around 1:30 a.m. at the Shell gas station in the 4900 block of Connecticut Avenue, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers arrived at the scene after reports of gunfire. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services found Nwogu with a gunshot wound and determined he was dead, the police department said.

A police report said Nwogu suffered blunt trauma to the back of his head and a single gunshot wound to the middle of his back.

According to Virginia Tech, Nwogu graduated in May with a bachelor of science in industrial and systems engineering degree.

“It is a tragic loss of a very promising life,” said Charlie Klauer, an associate professor who advised Nwogu on his senior project in the department of industrial and systems engineering. “I would say that he was a perfect blend of studiousness, seriousness and fun. He knew what he wanted and he was going to go after it and he had direction, for sure. But he also was lighthearted and could be very funny.”

"Never had any negativity about him," Nwogu's friend, Will Ventura, said. "Really positive, really hardworking, and caring. And he had such a bright future ahead of him."

Ventura said they dreamed of opening their own consulting firm together.

In a news conference, DC Police said they are looking for two suspects responsible for the murder of Alexander Nwogu.

The Metropolitan Police Department is also offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who provides information for leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the hom

Are these rates annually or monthly?

Any rates you see are annualized

Then it get the actual return
You divide proportionately

Like 6 months tenor
You divide the annual rate by 2
And 3 months u divide the annualised rate by 4

This is different from someone who sold about 51% equity in his company for millions of dollars.

That $10 million can be used to start another company, which I can sell at a premium in another 10 years and the cycle will continue
Point of correction. She did not get the USD10m in cash. The PE firm did not buy her shares in the company. They injected cash into the company for its CAPEX and expansion needs (to grow the business). Dilution is what reduced her shares in the company.

She and the PE firm were supposed to make their money at the sale of the company or an IPO.

I believe the reason the PE firm refused to inject the balance of USD8m is that the value and prospects of the company have changed (COVID and all) since they signed the original agreement in 2018. I also believe certain milestones agreed were not achieved by the company.

A patriot wants the best for his country

And it's not compulsory for a patriot to be based in his country of origin
I dont think anyone here wants Nigerias downfall (well expect some misguided "Ipob Yoots" as Nairaland will call them )

And that by definition makes me, and most of us here Patriots
Yes indeed there is a lot of foolishness in the country
Yes indeed we have a loose canon in the Aso rock

But I still wish Nigeria the best
And will never commit treason against the country

That's just what you guys should understand

Any black person who doesn't have a goal to see Africa great ain't an ally.

I know Nigeria has problems, let's divide ourselves into group's and start tackling them.

Most of the problems solved in Europe were done by industrialists and scientists not the president's.

Buhari is 1000 times better than his predecessors, but he's is definitely not doing enough, a lot of the hindrance is coming from those working with him and the useless state governments and yes citizens.

Instead of bothering us with constant Western propaganda, which i know is false ,

Here are your options

Revolt
Elect people who will serve
Disintegrate the country structurally
Tackle persistent issues using community standards

Sick of the constant complaining without actions.

Since 2017, I have never kept above 100k in my account, I have multiple of such account across many banks, first bank alone I have dorm, savings and current, I run account for my four kids and one for my wife, I use them for my nature of biz, several hundred of millions in investment houses etc, so that statistics might be right but not accurate, let them use bvn and tell us again that all the business men moving money on daily basis don't have 500k and above in account and they don't make 2% of our population. Not even talking of politicians that bury money underground.

I have seen both climes and I choose nigeria over any unfavorable climate. Spent 10 days in UK 2016 and left the house about thrice, did I pay my way to be watching TV indoors. The weather was bleeped and everybody remained indoors, had to run back because of boredom.

Most Nigerians are quick to blame the President without focusing on their LGA Chairman, State Governor, House of Reps member and Senator. They want the President to come down from Aso Rock to fix their LGA roads and Primary schools despite the federal allocation given to the LGA. Check out how much a state like Delta state or Bayelsa state has collected as FAAC with nothing to show for it but their people will continue to attribute their plight to the President. Actually there are reasons why one should think against settling elsewhere sha
Abroad is not for everybody
Different countries with different headaches

That said
Let us for argument sakes agree that you are right

I can bet my left toe that not up to 10% of people living in Nigeria (let's say 20m people ) can boast of N500k liquid

Lets assume the margin of error is 500%

I'm happy that you have found what works for you
And you are happy about it.

I wish to be in your shoes one day (the happiness part actually)
Until I get myself to live that expat life without hassles
There will be that missing part to me undecided

She initially owned 100% of the company and later transferred 95% to a special purpose vehicle. Where she and the PE investors owned 45% : 55%.

When that is prorated in additional to her fully owned 5%. That is what reduced her direct and indirect holdings to 48%

While you are right
And the lower tier deserves blame

I hope you will agree with me that the blame on the president is not 100% out of place

Because the current structure of this country vests enormous power in Aso Rock to the detriment of the component units
