Some info just coming in....

1. Tobias Lawal won't be in goal in any of the friendlies. He won't even make the bench. He doesn't have his Nigerian passport yet.
But yes, he has been impressive in camp drills and hopefully he gets to switch soon and become eligible to play in the near future.



2. Coach Rohr may indeed be trying to phase out Akpeyi and Ezenwa soon but it would happen gradually. So expect a "fit" Akpeyi to make the November Competitive fixtures.


3. Samson Tijani is rated by Rohr and regarded as one for the future but he won't start against Algeria. He may not even get minutes. Time will tell.


4. Zaidu Sanusi looks a favorite to start. Not 100% certain but the signs are there from the info I get.

Playing consistently keeps you in for. Maybe great season was the wrong phrase but he was playing and had good showing with Awaziem. Not same with sitting of the bench or getting injured after few matches.

Kelechi Nwakali actually played majorly as a Deeplying Playmaker at Chile 2015. He was CAM at some point, CM at some point and then absolutely DLP at most other points. Nwakali had a free role in that midfield three and was hard to pin down by opponents.

This is part of what made the FIFA study group at that U-17 WC marvel at the tactics used by Amunike in moving his "#10" a lot deeper into midfield with Kingsley Michael roaming as the mobile box-to-box/Midfield runner operating between the opponents' defensive lines in Central areas and Enogela doing the dirty work at the Midfield's base too.

Nigeria will take on African champions, Algeria, in the first of two international friendly games in Austria this FIFA window. The second game against Tunisia comes up three days later. All the matches will hold in Austria.

According to NFF Media Director, Ademola Olajire, the federation’s marketing department has reached an understanding with both AIT and SuperSports to broadcast the games to Nigerians as part of efforts to get Super Eagles’ fans close to the team.
Both matches will kick off by 7.30 Nigerian time, Olajire disclosed that the Super Eagles camp at the Hotel die Zeit an der Glan in Austria is brimming with excitement following the arrival of all invited players, adding that there is stout confidence that the mixture of old boys and new acts would turn back African champions Algeria tomorrow and the continent’s second-ranked team, Tunisia on Tuesday.


He reaffirmed that former Germany U20 captain, Kevin Akpoguma, who arrived in camp only to bond with Nigeria’s international train ahead of his switch to fatherland, was cleared by FIFA’s single judge to dorn the green-white-green henceforth.

Glad you are getting it. But no... Kingsley Michael was not even the "pure playmaker". He was just the midfield runner. Nwakali was the actual playmaker. He dictated play from deep most times at the U-17 WC and the FIFA study group specially mentioned the rarity of seeing a coach use a "Number 10" at that level (cadet level) to dictate/playmake from deep positions in midfield. They were astounded at the tactics and commended it.

So my point is this. Yes, Nwakali can function as a #10 but he is a born and natural DLP. So CM suits him much much more.

And finally... It is still very early to be talking about Nwakali in the Eagles now. I remember I pointed out to Chris in a discussion that I won't have Nwakali being invited now. I need to see more of him in La Liga. Let him show more of himself in La Liga. After that, then at any point in 2021, his invite will be inevitable. So take it step by step and ACCEPT THAT IWOBI IS OUR TEAM'S First choice AM.

I dont have to tick all the conventional definition of a DM. I want a DM that can move with the ball. For instance, Kaita moves with the ball , as in making moves with with ball still in your possession. And, please , dont post YouTube videos of the best of Ndidi because I have seen them.

It wasn't between CAF and SuperSports. It was between CAF and Lagerdere Sports.

The dispute at first affected SuperSports b'cos CAF was looking to cancel their contract with Lagerdere and move over to SuperSports, Proper.

So in December last year, CAF won the first battle against Lagerdere and had the contract cancelled. So this may likely permit the resuming of the SuperSports-CAF relationship.
