jhidey08: I advise you follow your mind and spirit ooo Come thinking of it, imagine the stress of going to Lagos if you are to pick Lagos and compare to abuja where you reside. What part of abuja do you stay ? Just follow your mind 1 Like |

Lildairo:This date is ideal for Fall 2021 applicants, especially students who deferred from last fall. For Spring 2021 applicants, you either contact Lagos consulate or wait. I am confident that more dates will be released once the first batch of students are interviewed tomorrow 9th of October. So this bring students having their interview tomorrow to mind. Remember the interview rules: 1, As you approach the consular counter, relax yourself. Make sure you do not go in with tension as this will impair your mind from speaking flowly and confidently. I always say on this thread: interview is merely a conversation between the consular and the student--to assess your credibility for the F1 Visa. So, do all you can to be in a relaxed state. 2, Establish eyes contact with the consular. As you deliver your response to the questions, look into his/her eyes. Have a neutral countenance. 3, Listen! Some of you have not learned the art of listening in your everyday lives. Don't go to the embassy with this attitude! Listening is very, very important in having a successful F1 interview. As a student, if you can't listen, you can't grasp what you're being asked. By listening, I mean make sure you hear what you're being asked. Don't interrupt the consular if it is not necessary. There have been cases of students who did that and got refused as a result. 3, Speak steadily. Don't be fast if you're not used to going to interviews. By steadily, I mean not so fast, not so slow. Be in the middle. Give each response as smoothly as you can. Answer each question concisely. No story; don't talk about what you were not asked. The consular probably have other students to interview and there is no time. If everything goes as usual, this interview will not be more than 5 minutes. 4, Be yourself. This is where confidence comes in. In fall 2019, I coached a dude from this thread. He stammers but he didn't show this during our mock, but when he went for his interview, he was refused. Then he tried the second time, and was refused again. I was really baffled, but he told me he couldn't speak well during those two interviews because he was somehow scared, and so he stammered most of the time. So I suggested that if he will be applying again, he should tell the consular before the interview starts that he shutters. It is not your fault that you stammer, so tell the consular you stammers! As a human being that the consular is, he said he understand and that it is fine. This's his third attempt. This time, he wasn't even asked much questions, and his visa was approved. Predstan knows this guy. So, be confident and be yourself. This is a human-to-human conversation! 5, Going with the confidence thing, wear what you're comfortable in. 6, I look forward to some good news tomorrow. All the best! 25 Likes 4 Shares |

These are the available dates in Abuja I just checked now. These dates are suitable for Fall 2021 or anyone that has deferred to fall 2021. What is the situation with spring applicants regarding this situation.

Hello house, I have a some question as regards visa appointment, I recently filled the email notification form someone shared for Lagos NIV so as to get notified of new appointment in Lagos Embassy, but when i saw some open spaces for application at abuja embassy i decided to change my venue to Abuja so i could pick the earliest date and request for an emergency appointment. Now here's my problem, I just got a mail from Lagos Niv that they have schedule an appointment for me for oct 20, but when i checked my portal i can only see my abuja appointment for march 3rd. I am just very confused right now, should i cancel the abuja appointment and go and repay the application fee or the application fee can still be used for the Lagos Appointment. Thanks 1 Like |

Please, is anyone here that has gotten their electronic mailed I-20 for spring, how many days did it take you to get it after applying for it? Please it's urgent. Thanks. |

Walspring:Thanks for you input. I don’t think I’ll have a problem with going to Lagos if there’s a better chance of getting an emergency interview date there. I stay around Lugbe. |

Michael820: When did you complete the form for emergency appointment? You can talk to @matluck he got a similar mail and was able to book. I think you prolly need to cancel the Abuja appointment and use the same visa payment. It should still be valid. |

No answer here will determine when you will get yours. Apply to your school. Probably send an email that it is a matter of urgency. You might even get it in hours since it is electronic Newdawn123: 2 Likes |

Please I really need your advice on this: I picked up 4th of March 2021 as appointment date. Meanwhile, my program start date is 12th January 2021. Regarding the 60 days policy, can I request for emergency appointment now? Or should I wait till 12th of November(60 days to program start up date) before requesting for emergency appointment? Please guide me! 1 Like |

Hello guys, long post alert. I want to know if it's possible to apply to different schools for different disciplines. I graduated with a degree in civil engineering which opens up multiple options to pursue a further degree directly related to it( Geotechnical, transport, environmental, waste water, structural etc) The problem is I'm more interested in Geo technical engineering but my undergraduate thesis was in waste water( analysis of the effect of petro chemical waste dumps in a river in eleme Port Harcourt, by determing the total pollution status of the river ie hydrocarbon content, hardness etc) My question is, would it be wise to apply to different schools on this two disciplines (waste water and Geotechnical engineering in order to increase my chances of getting funding as I have no research work on geo technical engineering even if it's what I'm most interested in? Would it affect my chance on getting a visa? I would appreciate any response. Thanks. |

Go ahead and apply to the different disciplines. Worst case scenario, you will be silent about it if at all you are asked during Visa interview. Mind you, still mention your previous research works in all your application. It doesn't matter if your research interest has changed. Your ability to do research and proven history still speaks volume RENOWNED2: 1 Like |

sodaug: I don't think there is a solution to that. You will just have to wait for the 72 hours to elapse to get your account back. Meanwhile, try not to attempt to login till the account is unfrozen. 2 Likes |

If you have a high GRE Score/secular academic profile you can always request for an application fee waiver. Infact most top tier schools and programs don't really expect app fees from great scholars. I know of University of Washington, Virginia tech, e.t.c Fabuloski: 1 Like 1 Share |

Fabuloski: But to sincere, u need to get someone who will sponsor you in this journey or some level of finance. There is no way you spend money. You cant begin this journey on seeking for finance help (in my opinion). 1 Like |
