Political office is far different from academic environment, if they decline in memory as u think, why did they clamoring for 70years of age for retirement of professors, which means ur assumption is wrong as regard to that.


Going back to exam conducted for them, it was stated that only 7 passed , why other failed, failure in that context mean they didn't score up to 50% of total score, for professors that entrusted to do research and transfer such research unto students and general public not scoring 50% of exam conducted for them speak volume of decay in our education system, mind you less that 1/3 of professors passed more than 50%.

Even as a graduate one should be able to contribute as little as possible on every issues of life. I think we do argue it here that girls are boring to chat with when it come to every issues of life.

To some extent this is true, years of experience matter alot in the system

Methinks years of experience should put the Professor of over 25 years in a better position on both written and oral examination.

If you are in the system, surely records will full, some depends on others to write papers, some depends on connection to get to professorial cadre. I doubt if you knw about Babalakin and unilag VC of recent, under immediate VC of unilag a professorial cadre was awarded, in which that course was/is not offered in unilag, how come? Who I know!

Under normal circumstance, a lecturer, even if he/she is a "graduate assistant" is supposed to know and aware of new developments in schools, societies and world in generally, one of expectations from their employers is to do research and conversant with happenings in the society.

There is another angle to the matter.

A professor is a professor in a particular area of study: not in all fields. For instance, if a professor of Physics sets questions for a professor of Philosophy, the Professor of Philosophy is likely to fail woefully. The same thing will happen when the Professor of Philosophy sets questions for that of Physics.

Sure, simply put, he should not only read his own area of specialisation, he should have the knowledge of other courses, what of civil servants who write exams before being promoted to the next grade?
