mehn an eyesore of a match
My observations:
Ndidi, Etebo and Osimhen don't have able replacement. Will love to see Dessers tho. Agu and Onuachu should just take this match as a testimonial. Azeez is miles ahead of whoever we paraded in the middle today

Ebuehi and Sanusi were very good. Chukwueze and Kalu probably had their worse performance in a Nigerian jersey so far. But then, after they were substituted we had zero goal threat. Their poor performance could be because there was no striker they could link up with.

Ekong was probably the worst of any of our player who played as a defender today. Balogun was really impressive

Okoye was very solid and confident

Gernot Rohr has to be the biggest flop today. Zero reading of the game, zero tactical input. Poor substitutions.

Tunisia has to be better and hope we see more of the new guys as well so we'll know who are the quality ones and who are the pretenders

Agu had a very decent outing, oga Long. Which match did you watch ?

The lack of creativity in the midfield is glaring,I noticed it at AFCON 2019. This current Super Eagles lack a proper centre midfielder, Rohr should make sure he never misses inviting Ramon Azeez in subsequent matches so long Azeez plays the La Liga, although Azeez isn't world class he adds a bit of creativity and balance in the midfield. This Super Eagles team is really a midfielder who can control the tempo of a game and retain possession.

Apart from Ramin Azeez Rohr should try Samson Tijani in the next friendly. He is a natural midfielder. He should try some radicalism in his selection

In fact, I think Tijani and Agu should start from the middle...they are both natural midfielders who can hold the ball and play good passes.

And , anybody that says Agu played badly yesterday needs to go back and pay attention whenever the number ten held the ball. He was playing like an attacking midfielder. Just because Agu is not playing for a top club does not remove his qualities.

That is it. Big club or league mentality is overrated. We should try and see how players fit into our game plan. Iheanacho despite his strughles in leicester adds something to our attack.
Ohanachu should be dropped for someone else. All this dem Terem mofffi arokodare eyc deserve a chance

Honestly, I dont see any sense in starting Onyeka and Ajayi ahead of Agu who is a natural CM/DM. Rohr is just too tactically poor. He is spoiled with talented players yet he doesn't how to play them. Also , Tijani is almost ripe for SE and that boy is soon gonna steal somebody's shirt. He is a natural midfield baller much like Agu. The little boy also got courage and unleashed a shot that missed target...thats a sign of a player who is ready to ball.

Indeed, Iheanacho was very lively but still Rohr is still trying to use him as a 9 and I disagree with that. Iheanacho should be played as a pseudo 9. His set pieces were also very dangerous. I wonder how it will turn out if we play him next to Onuachu as a SS cum AM.

Onuachu should not be dropped but he doesn't have to start the matches and as per here and now , he is in good form and you cant ignore that.

Regardless of how much some of us don't like Etebo,we can't deny that he is still very useful to this team!!

Ndidi still has no real competition as far as I'm concerned, abi Idenna, how u see am? grin

Energy is not everything. Let proper player fill the appropriate positions. Etebor is a forward NOT a DM. He is chaotic there.

Hopefully before our game in November, the switch for players like Lookman and Ejaria will be complete, Bazee has returned from his injury as he played for his team yesterday in a friendly. Rohr also needs to talk to Reading's Olise as well. We need as many good players as we can get

Samson Tijani is not yet Super Eagles material, he shouldn't be called up.

I was typing a long commentary on the aftermath of the Algeria match but changed my mind about posting it. I think we are too carried away with names and where they play. Names are important, but the big question is will Rohr and his coaching crew be able to do the main job of using different tactical formations depending on the opponent, and will they be able to harness the strength of the players and make them one solid unit? He says our strengths is playing with fast wingers. This can be nullified by disciplined opponents again and again. Is this team really growing? If so, how long will it take? Or maybe we will end up with just settling for Rohr building the foundation. The Algeria I saw today was better than the one I saw in last AFCON, or at least they dominated us more. I just hope we get better as time goes by. But I am afraid Rohr cannot give what he doesn't have. He brings an important managerial asset to the team, but there is still a big missing puzzle in the coaching crew. I don't see Yobo filling that void -- at least not in the next 2 years.

I doubt the coaches engage in basic tactics with these players, the game was an eyesore

Above average players in the current Super Eagles:
Wilfred Ndidi.
Leon Balogun.
Victor Osimhen.
Henry Onyekuru.
Samuel Chukwueze.
Alex lwobi.
Moses Simon.

Chidera Ejuke should be in the list, but he is to get an invitation first, and then feature, to get a deserved reckoning.

The listing above was drafted based on the impact the listed can exert when featured for at least 30 minutes.

Only Ndidi and osimhen are above average ,the earlier you accept the better for you

Many highly respected members of this thread even said, and I quote, "Ekong is the only defender assured of his starting spot, Balogun, Semi Ajayi, Omeruo and Awaziem will fight for the other spot".

I don't know how some people watch football though, but as for me, I have never seen Ekong play good football as a defender. His game is just aimless clearances and wild tackles. Ekong as a defender is not disciplined enough to start in any Bundesliga club.

But that’s true nah ,we go by rohr formation and this is even a friendly

You watched the afcon and you saw how Balogun was benched ?

You think rohr will bench ajayi ? When ndidi returns ajayi will go back to cb and it might affect Balogun

Ekong have a bad game and you wanna use it to judge him ? Don’t Balogun use to have bad game or have you forgotten his school boy error at the afcon ?

Ekong cannot start for any bundesliga team but he used to start about 30 games per season for udinese

Stop saying what you don’t know oga

Did you even see how ekong was solid against Brazil ?

Oga boss national team no be club oo.
1 game fit make or mar u. there are millions of players waiting to grab that shirt by hook or crook, both home based and foreign based , so when u get the chance to dorn the national team jersey see it as a YOLO (you only live once ) opportunity, if na to die there u die die.
frank onyeka would not be invited again to the national team for now, he misused his opportunities in a highly competitive position.
