80mins Poor crosses all day has made the Algeria keeper at peace.
Midfield looking more balanced after Agu stepped onto the pitch.

Moses Simon seems to have an understanding with the LB but are yet to put in a good cross

Exactly it was a friendly match
because we all know when it comes to the super eagles nacho is a better striker than the guy who wore the 9 Jersey yesterday

It is just so unfortunate that we don't rate Aina here...Aina is fine and decent player and I am so sure he won't have done badly yesterday had it been he played

So no need exerting too much energy on some of their errors

And these Algerians were not Poor, they are quite disciplined. Defended when need be and attacked as a unit.

Dt guy is a good coach cool

What Rohr lacks is what he needs in an assistant

But what can Yobo offer?

So we should not expect any tactical magic from the coaching crew.

He has never made any sub that changed the course of a match for good in 3yrs counting.

Hopefully, the players will help themselves once given the chance.

Iwobi off, had a nice game with no attacking supporting. Misplaced a few passes but his fitness level can not be questioned at all.
We have not stringed 7 passes TOGETHER as a team.

How you rate a National Team Football is definitely limited to performances in tournaments, Friendlies are used as preparation for these tournaments and I'm more about what tournament he showed that he was our best defender at.

Qualifiers tournament and their tournament proper are more significant than any friendly regardless of how we perform in these friendlies And Ekong also played well in the world cup and even gave us a crucial win to advance to the Quarter final in the Afcon

Yes and Idowu played well and Victor Moses, even Musa should be no 1 on the team sheet

We know who is good and who is not, stop all this shalaye

90 minutes and we did not put in one simple cross.
We were outrun. They were much more physical and mobile.
Take home for me would be to get more wingers and midfield.
The first striker was never given a chance with our style of play all day.
Against Tunisia I hope to see a better game

The argument is not about who is good and who is not, It is about balogun and the tournament he played better than any of our center backs as you said

My guess is Rohr would go with a 3-5-2, he said he wants to try different formations

The argument is actually about who is good and who is not, Balogun is our best defender and he proved that Yesterday, bringing up tournaments in 2019 where he played only 2 games won't change that fact

nobody ever said balogun is not good, you only sidestep the point to avoid answering the question because you have no way to justify that Balogun is our best defender and that's just your opinion and nothing more.

Rubbish or no rubbish, there were positives from the match, and I believe the boys will come good, though I don't really trust the coach. You don't throw the baby away with the bath water, bro.

Btw, did you see what Mali did to Ghana, or what Morocco did to almighty Senegal?

What's your point, I said Balogun is our best defender most of matches he played he was one of our best players, he was part of the famed Oyibo wall and proved himself yesterday too so what exactly is your point?

He has to perform in a tournament? He performed credibly well at the World cup and didn't play much at the Afcon, club form? He has an incredible record at his club 16 clean sheets in 24 matches so I don't know what your point is

At the bolded, Rohr will not bench one of his best players in a crucial tournament as the Afcon for Omeruo and using yesterday's game as a point because Ekong wasn't his best is just mischievous considering the fact that Ekong was our best defender in the Afcon and in the World cup. Ekong has been our best defender in the past 4 years and the armband he wears ahead of Balogun says a lot.

Ekong has been consistent for both club and country, his numbers are there for you to see. I cannot imagine Rohr keeping Ekong on the bench for any reason, It just doesn't happen in crucial matches unlike with balogun that is dispensable

You people underrate Onuachu too much. He has not really gotten clear cut chances to prove himself. He might do better with iheanacho beside him, iheanacho can set up a striker with a good ball. Dessers can come from the bench later.

Bros, do you understand what having A SHOT ON TARGET actually means? If so, please, tell us exactly when Alex Iwobi and Ebuehi had those shots on target that we’re talking about

FYI - Shooting wide off target isn’t the same thing as having a shot on target. I was mostly frustrated by Iwobi’s shot because he actually has a few players in good position he could’ve passed the ball, to go one on one with the goalie.

O pari

humility33:

Iwobi posed a threat to that goal keeper and even had a shot on target which onaichu never had even Tyrone had a shot on target

Onaichu was waiting to be feed 10 chances so that he could convert one

Someone like oshimen and nacho would have drift the middle or see need to interchange with the wingers just to press on and make a goal

But the clumsy tall striker was just there doing nothing

Off course I don't like seeing him in super eagles shirt

I wondered what the noise about onuachu was all about and I decided to watch the match. Really the dude put in a decent shift for his style of play. No support except for a few times Iwobi pressed with him.
Maybe we should start nacho next match and see if he might do better

He made some valid points...
Rohr has been with the team for 4 years and we are still not sure what style of play we are using...
Is it tiki taka? Gengenpressing? Counter attacking? Park the ball style?

This is National Team football not League football. Take a good look around and give me the names of country that have a definite football ideology .
The National Team is a boiling pot of different club ideology eg: Spain has Pique (tiki taka ),Diego(alethico utra defense),Ramos (different tactical setup). For a coach to work with all these players with different style from different leagues(Serie A is more defensive minded than EPL, while Turkey is a much more tactical league than Serbia) is hard.
Is Rohr the best possible coach for Super Eagles -NO
Is their a BETTER alternative to Rohr at the moment -NO

NB:Above all remember that we always have an over bloated view of our players .A lot of people here when given the squad that Rohr has will perform nada. Coaching is different from punditry. If Rohr had started Dessers and we lost ,a lot of people who have screamed sentiment(saying onuachu na in form this and that). So it is better for us to join and support the team cuz even if Rohr is getting it wrong does it mean that his assistants are also bad. Even if Rohr is sacked and a new coach employed , he will still work with those assistants. Finito

Thank you, my dear! I had the same thing on Twitter as well. The NFF need to allow Rohr to bring back his assistants. Coaching is no longer a one man job in modern game. They can leave Yobo to understudy Rohr but the man needs a real supporting cast.
