But I also notice that random numbers frequently call the number - mostly see missed call notifications. I have only picked one of these calls (seems a robocall).

Now, I am considering adding this number to outbound emails, but these unsolicited calls could make it hard telling what calls are relevant.

I've not experienced the first question you asked but I'll advise you to give them some time if nothing happens, send a reminder mail. Hopefully, someone that has experience this will give you better answer.
You can list on another MP pending when your afternic account will be restored. Just go change the nameservers where you registered to that of the new MP.

Yes, your suspended account would be restored once you are able to prove that you didn't break any of their terms of usage.

Had such problem a few days ago and it was restored. All the best.

The truth is we don't know the full algorithm used by SH to accept names. If you know that, you have already become millionaire because you will go on registration spree having known that it will get accepted. They will never ever let anyone know. That's their trade secrets.
Having said that, at bolded, they give you 1000 points, (brandbucket only 10 free slots), within that 1000, you can coin good names and make good sales, thats only the job you do for them. But do you know how many names they have and has to do renewal for if not sold? Besides, they spent much more to get those names exposed in other markets all for free, but you that do next to nothing just need to relax and wait for sale to come. They do everything for you.
If your name is registered by ur self and accepted as premium, you may need extra dollars to get it exposed again by featuring or pushing it up in the same category you are.
so u see that its still on their neck to sell coined names and even more transparent to give you your rewards.
what if they reject the name, and register it after few days. Will you know?

You're not alone bro, I also get these random messages and calls.

Personally, I feel Dingtone recycles numbers that have been used and left by previous owners.

Sometimes though, some of the calls are from websites/contact forms you filled while outbounding and they are only following up.

I get random texts/whatsapp messages all the time from people I have no clue how they got the number.
