Solving for Resistance in Parallel first gives: 1/5 + 1/2 = 7/10 Therefore, inverting the result gives Resistance in Parallel = 10/7 Kohms Total Resistance in the circuit = 25 Kohms + 10/7 Kohms = 185/7Kohms Applying ratios... NDSMELODY: kolad59: Sorry, I missed the sensitivity factor So, here's it again Solving for the sensitivity factor, the resistance of the voltmeter = 0.1 * 10 = 1Kohm Therefore total resistance of the Voltmeter = 2 + 1 = 3Kohms Now solving Resistance in Parallel first gives: 1/5 + 1/3 = 8/15 Therefore, inverting the result gives Resistance in Parallel = 15/8 Kohms Total Resistance in the circuit = 25 Kohms + 15/8 Kohms = 215/8Kohms Applying ratios... Voltage across multimeter = (Resistance across multimeter/Total Resistance in the circuit) * 30V = [ (15/8 ) / (215/8 ) ] * 30 ~ 2.093 V |
