radautoworks: Yeah, just doesn't seem viable here, sadly. I think there's a market for it, though. Ultra high-end market. If I owned something like a Jaguar or Alfa, I'd be willing to pay for something like that. Maybe even an AMG or M. 1 Like |

sultaan: Sultaan, do you know what? Ford is a very peculiar vehicle, so Ford owners are very sensitive, they don't just take their Ford to any workshop where multi brands of vehicles are being repaired, because Ford technology needs the conc and excellent Ford engineer that will oblige with the unblend standard and norms of Ford technicalities, few of Ford owners that were not informed ended up in multi brands vehicles workshops but couldn't get the best repairs. It's true that all vehicles have their few anomalies including Ford, but most of multi brands workshops had caused a great damage to Ford vehicles and leave it for the real Ford specialists like BRIDCOE, COSCHARIS and smaller workshop like FEMTOPFORD to Clean up their mess. At the end of the day, they would blame it on Ford that it's a bad vehicle, Ford is a very good vehicle, Ford specialists are rectifying the problems indicated on Ford by other workshops regularly as narrated below.

Though you claimed that you didn't see anything she didn't wrong, I won't dispute you, you're free to go through my thread and see how she jumped in and tried to destroy the image of my specialization, thank God I was competent in my field to stand up firmly for my profession. I think we are missing the point here. The idea is not for individuals to have alternate interest in other brands of vehicles, but for them to come together and enlighten the Nigerian market of the value Ford or any other American brand can offer in place of overpriced brands. The Ghanaians are using Chevrolet and they do not have 3 heads. We maybe discussing the value Kia or Mitsubishi offer in small/compact cars. The fact that it is okay to be replacing engine in one brand and not other brands is not acceptable. My usual question to Radauto when it comes to some brands is " was it caused by vehicle failure, negligence, or tampering by mechanic" and she has never fully answered. Having access to parts, and bulletin means your are in a better position to educate users to get things done right the first time and when you build confidence you get more business. I don't think we have all been able to serve the Nigerian users properly on this forum. 1 Like |
Re: Repairs by radautoworks: 10:34pm On Oct 12, 2020 |
sultaan: I'm sorry I thought I answered this in the past I love having these discussions with you. It has been due to vehicle failure and additionally in Nigeria compounded by mechanics not knowing what to do and messing up the problem even further. That being said, I've never denigrated Ford as a whole I've simply said that their specialty is not passenger vehicles and SUVs. It's the large engine trucks, muscle cars and cargo vans. Case in point are you aware that Ford has now stopped making sedans in North America? They are only keeping the muscle cars (mustang and GT), which again, big engine. This is because they have not been able to compete in that segment because their vehicles just are not up to par with the competition. Ford themselves admit as much. But when it comes to heavy duty vehicles like trucks and vans and diesel, Ford is the way to go. |
Re: Repairs by sultaan(m): 12:20am On Oct 13, 2020 |
Can we say for sure that other brands beat Ford in sales because they are impeccable or the possibility that buyers buy them because they expect the trade-in value or second hand value to be higher than Ford, with the possibilities that these values are dictated buy how much dealers shipping them overseas are bidding.. Toyota Land Cruiser is the top dogs of large SUV but yet they will stop production because there is no second hand demand at the current trade-in value. Toyota and Honda cars do not have the same clout in Europe as they do in US, are they not more reliable than Volkswagen in Europe? |
Re: Repairs by radautoworks: 1:00am On Oct 13, 2020 |
sultaan:Note: we're not saying other brands are impeccable either. Just stronger in the passenger segment. Yes we can because in the USA what determines resale value is after-sales maintenance cost and reliability. Popularity is third. The first two have cost Ford a great deal in warranty repairs. Note, the problem is not sales but profitability. They are forced to sell cheap because of reliability issues and then lose a lot of money on warranty claims hence the poor resale value. The only ones that do not do that are the aforementioned lines. The big/heavy duty engines will clock 300-400,000 miles easy and for some reason they also do not have as many electrical and finish issues as the smaller passenger lines. Asian cars contrary to popular belief DO have a strong presence in Europe. The only market growing for Ford is Africa. Why? Because historically car manufacturers strip their models and dump their worst specs here so to us the average Ford is "loaded". I was shocked to find out that some cars here don't have secondary air bags, oxygen sensors, etc. Ford realizes this hence my earlier "lots of features for cheap statement". https://www.investopedia.com/articles/markets/082115/how-ford-makes-money.asp 1 Like |

sultaan: Maybe, but Ford get werey for head. Or are we going to pretend otherwise? sultaan:I'm not sure where you heard this but I can assure you that no company uses second-hand value or sales numbers as an indication of anything. Also, the LC is being discontinued in North America, not worldwide. Simply because it's an old car and sells badly in NA. The LC's selling point is impeccable build quality (built to last for 25 years) but that market has become very competitive with cars like the Escalade having way better interiors and design. Second-hand value had absolutely nothing to do with it. 1 Like |

sultaan: Gbam 100% correct, Sultaan you excellently hit the mark. All that were said here were my questions to her right from the beginning of our controversy over Ford in my thread, but she hasn't been able to prove her accusation concerning Ford, just using marketing strategies to defend her claims on Ford. People can as well confirm what I said from my thread at their liesure |
Re: Repairs by Femtopford(m): 7:15am On Oct 13, 2020 |
radautoworks: Good, why are we having competition, this what I wanted to hear, this is the real truth, Ford is ahead of some other brands and also lack in some aspects, but not that Ford is totally bad. I won't stand it. Sincerely this a simple and direct answer about the status of Ford, So if any one should come to my thread or hers for enquires and enlightenment about Ford, we should try our best to help in their understanding not to just discourage them by saying Nooooo, which was the Genesis of this contest. 1 Like |

Femtopford: Is your intent to take what Rad auto said out of context.Because all this is simple english now. A question was asked if the first year models of Ford Edge was a good/best buy and she answered honestly NO. You yourself came out defending the brand by saying you can solve any issue.(that was not the answer needed as the question was direct and needed a Yes or No answer). We all know early models usually have some issues corrected in later models. They dont stop the car from been driven but it saves the owners some bucks on flimsy repairs. She has clearly maintained she has no issue with others but the 1st years of production. With regards to Sultans question, its getting worrisome the way the Asian and Japanese brand is infiltrating Europe.Even in Germany and France its becoming scary.A frequent traveller would understand. The Asian and japanese models re even replacing the popular brands they use for Taxis stylishly. 2 Likes |
