Yes, but when I checked the channel lists under the satellite name I see none of the channels you listed above. Sorry for my lazy way of passing my message, that's what I meant so was wondering if there are any other 51 .5E.

My question is, where do you get the channel list as I wouldn't want to bombard you or this thread with the screenshots of the lists of channels I found on lyngsat when I checked the sat position you mentioned above.
And lastly, what are the dish sizes tracks this bird?

Thanks for your selfless supports on this thread.

NB; I am a newbie.

That signal is not cool for a single lnb setup. At least you're suppose to be getting close to 70% . Are you sure something is not blocking the front of your dish?
It has a good line of sight with no observable obstacles to the satellite

First of all, using lyngsat to confirm the channels update given here, is not really a wise decision. Because that website is not always up to date or quick to update their channel list. Most info you see there are sometimes very old or outdated.

Secondly the info given here is not based on what any website is saying but rather based on real live/ personal experience. So when you hear us talking about latest development, it's based on the fact that we have, tracked, scanned, watched and confirmed. Before we come here to say anything of that sort.

Thirdly, many of us have dishes pointed at major sat positions or some are into daily installation. So most times do a periodic blind scanning.

Fourthly, when you hear more than one person repeating or hammering on new channels update / sat position. You don't need to rush to any website to go and check that info. Because there is a huge difference between office work and field work. The website is like an office work. But forums like this, is the real field work that contains people who carry out the physical practicals needed to give an authentic info and solutions in real time.

Finally on the issue of dish size.. The signal is strong enough to be tracked by a 60cm dish or above depending on which is at your disposal

Then, checklist all the tips I gave above. There is always room for signal improvement.

Less I forget. Is it the same signal percentage you get on your tracker that you still get on your decoder inside?

Because on some occasions, I have noticed signal drop due to diseqc switch, wire distance / joining. But that can only apply to you if there is a drastic drop in signal. when you compare the two signal between that of the tracker and the decoder inside.

Bro, please on a 60cm dish that i already use for nicomsat what will be the likely signal strength for the 51%east , I have d nicomsat stabled at 84% quality, so what will be the likely strength attaching 51%east on top. And what will be the lnb screw for it.

Firstly I must commend your selfless support on this forum@ Digitman2 and a host of others.

Digitman2:

There is no issue.. You have two option. You can either blind scan or manually input the frequency. 11090 H 30000

I did the bolded... But i didn't get the "green light" though i didn't blind scan cos its a strong decoder. It takes it ages to do a full blind scan so I simply reverted to my previous sat NigcomSat. Maybe I have to make out time and do the needful. Thanks

Are you getting other tp in the sat? If yes, try changing the polarity.

@Goaldynboy.. For fact that 3 degree west channels have move. You can now switch mbc to become your primary lnb.. Using the old lnb, you were using for the 3 degree west. Forget any attachments for now. Just use the old lnb at the centre for tracking mbc first

Ok Sir. I will try this next Sunday. I'm usually at home only on Sundays.

Thanks Bro.

Lnb skew =3.0 clock

On the issue of signal strength there are so many variables that can make the figure inconsistent . So all I can tell you is that the signal is strong enough to work on your dish size.

Less I forget, the frequency is 11090 V 30000

This is a big fat lie!

I suspect you work for dstv!

Tstv after what they have gone through will not make the mistake of transmitting dstv content!

Moreover, channels are not owned by one satellite company!

A channel like BBC can be transmitted by more than one satellite companies!

Dstv is a thief that wants to claim everything in Nigeria!!

Since your dish is pointing to the east.. Two sat position can give you MBC considering the fact that your primary lnb is positioned at 28.2 degree east. Thought 26 degree east still does that. But that's another topic

42.5 degree east

51.5 degree east

You also asked for proximity in distance using 28.2 degree east as a reference point.

From 28.2e to 42.5e is around =20.32 centimeters ( 8 inches)

From 28.2e to 51.5 is around =30.48 centimeters (12 inches)

Please note that the above proximity can either be less or more depending on different factors. So what I gave you does not apply to every installations but just a reference for you to work with

If to say you be lecturer students nor go dey pass your subject oh. Haha.

So if out of 10 marks your student score 7 you will say because he/she fail 3 you will not pass the student.

The said Tstv have their own indigenous channels which should count for a reason not to come here and start blacklisting them.

Further more in their press release.. They only listed just two frequencies that they will be transmitting on. Which are 10970 H 30000 and 11130 H 30000.

So to come here and be accusing them of transmitting other dstv channels on a frequency (11170 H.30000) that was not listed on their press release as theirs, simply because it's on the same sat position as Tstv . Is like trying to tarnish someone's image for a crime the person did not commit.

The said frequency was once said to belong to a particular service provider ( name withheld) which has nothing to do with Tstv. So let's mind our utterances in public, you never know, you could be making the wrong one out of ignorance.

One love

I can see there is a drunk and trigger-happy mod banning people indiscriminately for just asking innocuous questions!

I advise such mod to focus on Ashawo threads and topics where he understands what is being discussed!

Obviously such useless mod does not understand satellite installations and FTA topics!

He can still go ahead and ban me 100years! Afterall, I hardly remember that nairaland exists these days! If not for satellite and FTA topics, nothing brings me back to this tyrannical and dictatorship site where mods exercise their little power arbitrarily, recklessly and senselessly!

My fellow installers don't mind me. I have to vent my anger to that useless mod for banning me for no reason!
