I think MECOOL M8S PLUS beats Heliobox 8 hands down
yawwilson:
Very good FTA receiver for all.. you can watch your tv programs on your phone in your garden under the shades whiles the receiver is still inside.. you would love the new Hellobox 8.. recommend it to all...

My bro, do you have that box?(Mecool m8s plus) and have you tried your hands on Hellobox 8?... can you give the advantages of mecool m8plus over Hellobox 8?.. Do possess the Hellobox V5PLUS, S2.. that's why i recommend Hellobox 8
Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by ojesymsym: 3:27pm On Oct 13, 2020
In fairness, I do not have either. But looking at the features I think MECOOL M8S PLUS is just a notch higher.
My reasons are simple. It is a hybrid of Android (meaning you can install TV apps) box and satellite TV box, it is H265 and also multistream (S2x). You can also decide to add the google voice activated remote Google (G20, mx3) remote

This forum belongs to a hard working person (s) so, we should respect their terms and conditions. Good day and same love!!

You don't understand what it means to ban you for just asking a harmless question.

We are all blaming SARS for taking the law into their hands! But these Mods here does worse!

My question was "The direction to move a dish from Abs 3West to MBC 7West?" That's all!

Gbam! I was banned!

Pls you self can help me tell which rule I have offended by asking such question?
Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by ojesymsym: 3:46pm On Oct 13, 2020
I see what you mean. It has autoroll and BISS, not sure Mecool has that. You may be right then, it looks like you can even install android on Helio 8

Well, you can check up mecool on aliexpress to see if it has those things you are talking about, I suspect it does

Bro, you know from what you said (above) that you cannot be banned.. maybe, the computer programming could accidentally trip the ban...I believe they're working on it..

I strongly believe you have resolved the above? But if not... The proximity between the two sat is very close. All you have to do is bring down your dish just a little down right. While standing behind it. Remember it's not more than just an inch or two shift.

As regards to the ban.. Just let it go. Me I dey collect ban almost everyday for just trying to attend to questions here of recent but then, I still try to keep my head up.

Bro this your question funny oh.. You started with " your installer wants to rip you off " that means you already have the answers to your question. But maybe just looking for a second opinion.

Secondly I believe you probably don't have a shop where such is being sold close by.. Which might be the reason behind such a price tag. Or just maybe the installer mistake you for money miss road. Not knowing that you eyes dey shine well well. Lol!!

All the same try and find out from him why he chose to add such a huge price tag to those items. Because not more than 2k can buy both in my location. So probably there is a reason which I believe you both can sort out amicably.

Tp = 12380 H 27500

lnb skew = 5.0/6.0 clock

Now using Dstv as your reference point. I want you to picture Dstv as 12.0 clock then turn your dish to 3.0 clock position .. (From east you turn your dish to south)
It's okay to face it to the sky while tracking.

If your phone is android and compass works on it.. I will advice you to go to play store and download

Satellite director by zekitez.

It will always make it more easier for you to know the exact direction to point your dish. Before you even embark on tracking any satellite whatsoever.

All you need do in the app is just to locate the sat name / degree you want to track. Click on director and it pin points you to where your dish needs to face. That way you don't really have to bother coming here to ask us for directions anymore.

I can see there is a drunk and trigger-happy mod banning people indiscriminately for just asking innocuous questions!

I advise such mod to focus on Ashawo threads and topics where he understands what is being discussed!

Obviously such useless mod does not understand satellite installations and FTA topics!

He can still go ahead and ban me 100years! Afterall, I hardly remember that nairaland exists these days! If not for satellite and FTA topics, nothing brings me back to this tyrannical and dictatorship site where mods exercise their little power arbitrarily, recklessly and senselessly!

My fellow installers don't mind me. I have to vent my anger to that useless mod for banning me for no reason!

Bots do those things, I figured.
