Hello house, good afternoon. Does Gtbank have an online SHAREHOLDERS E-MANDATE ACTIVATION FORM portal, just as Access Bank United securities have? Thanks |

Zenith vs GTB ? The two stocks are highly correlated meaning that if you have both in ur portfolio then u are not diversifying - they are affected by happenings similarly. From d excel sheet bellow if u buy in January and sell in December each year, ur returns will be like so. GTB has done much better in terms of returns over d periods in consideration. Also, buy and hold is less profitable. Notes: 1. Historical data was scrapped off investing(dot)com with a python script. 2. The correlation coefficient was calculated with Pearson method (statisticians in d house ) 3. I didnt consider dividends sha. 4. Finally, thank God for python language 5 Likes 2 Shares

ositadima1: All banks stocks are corelated on NSE. Nothing new there. You can add the NSE banks index to your graph and it will look same way. There is usually just a short lag between the top ones and the rest. Only notable exception was Sterling Bank from about mid 2018 to 2019. |

PeoplesArmy: Lets look at a few correlations between FUGAZ. Note that correlation is pairwise therefor u can imply d pairs i didnt match. Correlations (Over d 8 years period) a) fbnh vs uba ==> 0.367 ==> weak b) zenith vs access ==> 0.77 ==> strong(??) c) gtb vs fbnh ==> 0.07 ==> no correlation d) gtb vs uba ==> 0.88 ==> strong e) zenith vs gtb ==> 0.87 ==> strong Note: positive correlation is very high d closer u get to 1 and lower as u get near 0 Returns If u bought in January 2012 and sold ur stock yesterday 13-10-2020 this would be ur returns. Note that dividends was not considered as I dont have d complete data. uba ==> 134% fbnh ==> -3.8% access ==> -21.8 Zenith ==> 67% GTB ==> 112% And, then some graphs for visuals... 9 Likes 1 Share

ucvin:1. Like someone said, it depends on your motive for buying. 2. UBA at 6.50 is not bad around this time considering the price of FBNH and Access...... except there's general market downturn later, then the price is okay. UBA is not even expected to trade below 7 if not for the activities of the heavy seller (or maybe the cross dealer before the rally. Just be ready to average down in case it goes a bit lower. ** Note that this is just my opinion. DD applies. 5 Likes |
