a man and a woman can do a work for 4 days.

x + y = 4 (man = x and woman = y)
while the woman alone can do the work for 6 days.
y = 6.
how long will it take the man to do the work?
if x+y = 4
when y = 6
x + 6 = 4
x = 4-6
x = -2
by ignoring the sign,
x = 2//
so it will take the man 2days to do the work.

abeg I stand to be corrected.

I think
no need to ignore the sign

- shows the man will finish the job 2 days less than the 4 days when they did it together

Can't you see that laugh emoji at the end of his solutions. As you can see, some of the question were either incorrect or answer missing from the options

Besides, you can't finish a job working alone in lesser days than the no of days both of them will use to complete same job.

A works twice as fast as B. If B can complete a work in 12 days independently, the number of days in which A and B can together finish the work in

A.18 days
B.6 days
C. 4 days
D. 8 days

A does 80% of job in 20 Days. Hence, 100% of job in (100/80) x 20 = 25 Days

A alone can complete the job in one day (1/25) portion

A and B do 20% of job in 3 Days. Hence, 100% of job in (100/20) x 3 = 15 Days

A and B can complete the job in one day (1/15) portion

B alone can complete the job in one day

[(1/15) - (1/25)] = [(5- 3 )/75] = [2/75] portion

B alone can complete the job = (75/2) = 37.5 Days

4days

2A = B
Hence, A = 12/2 = 6days

Working together 1/6 + 1/12 = 1/4 of the job/day

Hence, the job will be completed in 4days by A and B working together

1. 1/15 + 1/10 = 25/150
= 1/6 of the job/day

Hence, working together will take them 6days to complete the job

2. 4men will paint 2 rooms in 6*10/4 = 15days

Hence, painting of 6 rooms by 4 men = 15*3 =45days
